Aren’t we all on the same boat? Shouldn’t we all be in the pursuit of happiness? Sometimes I wonder. I think there is something missing in my life and it could be you. I’m in search of something elusive, a person with a heart of gold. A person who is genuine, kind, and nice to old people, children and strangers. A person who would do anything for the people they care about. I’m looking for a girl who loves her mother, who is attractive yet modest, who is happy, preferably a non-medicated state of happiness. I’m in search of a girl who still enjoys the simple things in life. A person who has gone through personal tragedy and survived, yet is not bitter and cynical, and still optimistic about the future. It is these people who understand what’s important in life and don’t complain about the little things. I’m looking for a girl that I can’t wait to come home to, a person that I miss when I’m away from her. I want someone who will share her stories and ideas with me, yet can also be comfortable in silence. I want someone feminine, not someone who smokes and drinks too much and swears. When did it become unfashionable to be feminine? You don’t have to be a model or a rocket scientist to grab my attention. All you need is a good heart, a little intelligence and a pleasant disposition and you’ll have my attention. And if you are affectionate, classy and have a little bit of imagination you may just capture my heart. I'm loyal, hard-working and very affectionate. I probably don’t deserve such a person but I’m looking for her nonetheless.

I’m not a person who has to be doing something every minute of every day. I could be happy doing nothing as long as I’m doing nothing with that special person. I like road trips to nowhere in particular… camping once in a while, especially the campfires… I love to grill out, although I’m not an expert… I enjoy visiting my nephews in Wisconsin, even though it’s hard to keep up with them… Family is very important to me… I’m a big football fan, college or pro… if you were too, that would be a big bonus… I’ve traveled a lot in the past (mostly Europe to visit family) and I hope to see many more places in the future… Ultimately, we have to be similar enough to be compatible yet different enough to make it interesting.

I’ve had my share of whining, complaining, controlling women who flat out refuse to be happy and I’m tired of that. It’s exhausting being in that type of relationship. I’ve spent long enough trying to fit a square peg into a round hole and I’m not going to do it anymore. I see happy couples everywhere I look and I think to myself, why can’t that be me? I want a positive, happy person. I don't think that's too much to ask.


I don’t have much in terms of money, a fancy car or a big house… Who knows if I’ll ever have that. But material possessions are not going to define who I am and ultimately, having those things isn’t going to make me happy if I have no one to share my life with. I really believe it’s not having what you want that’s important, it’s wanting what you have. Sometimes, people forget that.

I am in the pursuit of happiness. If you are too, maybe we could pursue it together.

A first date would probably include a good dinner in a quiet place where we can talk and get to know each other. The conversation would be so great that we lose track of time and we're the only ones left in the restaurant. When we finally have to say goodnight, neither one of us wants the evening to end. That would be a perfect date.

And for me, coffee is not a date.
