About Me
Wow! How do I sum up who I am in this short space? Okay, I believe in total "truthiness". I believe in "The Golden Rule". I believe we all have faults and it's okay; just don't be so quick to point them out. I believe that God gave me children to humble me and keep me grounded. I believe that there is someone out there for each of us. I believe in supporting our troops. I believe our children ARE our future...and our past. I believe in the power of a smile. I believe in miracles. I believe in do-overs. I believe in forgiveness.
Okay, this is starting to sound like a song so let me just say I am looking for someone who is comfortable in his own skin. Someone who is honorable, kind, non-abusive, loves to laugh (yes, even at himself at times), doesn't mind if I sing alot...out loud...off-key.
I love snuggling...be it in front of a fire, a scary movie, in bed...I just love the closeness. I cry at sappy movies and yell at action movies. (I've even been known to get a little over-excited and physical at fight scenes! --But I promise to kiss and make it up to you if I do hurt you!) I love candlelit bubblebaths for two. And the one thing you should really and truly know about me is that I have this ugly troll doll with garish red hair that I can't seem to throw away. I'm a romantic at heart and always will be so please don't think I'll change. I have a dog...he's a lady's dog but I don't mind if you have a man's dog (or two) as long as yours won't eat mine! (Trust me, all his hair would definitely spoil your dog's digestive tract.) I'm a kid at heart really. My favorite holiday is Christmas...I'll bake for you as long as you string the lights. I think I might know "It's a Wonderful Life" verbatim...not to mention the cartoon version of "How the Grinch Stole Christmas".
I worry too much about my children--my son is in Iraq for the third time, my daughters are in Australia and California. I love them to distraction but I'm wise enough to know the difference between a mother's love and a partner's love. I'm hoping that you will know the difference as well.
Relationships are tough no matter who you are...but if you can work toward a common goal, overlook the small things, and communicate, things CAN work out. And know that no matter how much I may love you, there WILL be times that I won't like you very much...but this too shall pass.
Thanks for taking a peek into my mind!
First Date
You know, a first date is often difficult until you get to know each other. Hopefully by the time we have our first date, we'll have had a few decent phone calls, emails, and laughs. For me, a first date would be either a picnic in a park on a sunny day (I know, corny isn't it?) OR a dinner in a cozy little place with lots of atmosphere.
