I am really quite a composite, often a contradiction, in personality, so it is a challenging job to describe myself. I am an artist considering a return to graduate school to finish my degree in British Art History. I love the pursuit of knowledge and the creation of beauty in my art.

I love cultural and intellectual pursuits yet also love nature & being outdoors (preferring Autumn--and Winter!) with walking, travel and camping. I am an indifferent housekeeper, preferring my easel, books and computer to my vacuum cleaner, but I am quite a good cook. I am often outspoken and opinionated yet am genuinely interested in the thoughts and feelings of others and enjoy listening to good conversation, intelligent discussion and interchange of ideas. Gregarious and outgoing, I yet cherish my solitude and enjoy my own company. You could hardly call me competive--I frequently dance to a different drummer, who leads me from the usual path--but I seek excellence in my own personal accomplishments. I can be witty & funny as well as quiet & serious. Passionate, funloving, spontaneous and whimsical-even a bit quirky-- I love the unusual and seek diversity. I am unusually sensitive and empathetic and value more the inner person than their outward appearance, and yet am a true, fullblown romantic, appreciating the sensual.

I'm a warm and friendly lover of people. My family, especially my children, and friends are the most important aspects of my life.

I love to travel and experience different cultures and landscapes--I have a daughter living in England and cherish my trips to Europe and the UK. Being an extensive reader in myriad areas, I love books--for themselves--and haunt the many used bookstores in town. I love classical music and good jazz, concerts & music fests, art exhibits and museums,lectures (especially in fields far diversant from mine), theatre, eating out--especially at outdoor restaurants, good movies but also quiet evenings with music and books and walks at sunset or in the snow under moonlight.

I am not beautiful, rather attractive or interesting-- 5'6" with long dark hair and green eyes--and look younger than my years. I smile a lot which lights up the person within, someone I have come to like and respect. I would like to find some unique person to like and respect--perhaps love-- and enjoy life with as well.

A perfect date for me would include good food, good conversation, and wonderful music.
FIRST dates, tho, can be complicated, so a simple walk along the river or a stroll through the art galleries on Main St.and a stop for tea or wine and conversation would be lovely.
