I am an aquatic ecologist and I spend most days out on a lake, but one day I hope to have a job working on the ocean. My ultimate goal would be to move to Newfoundland because I really miss my extended family.

I'm pragmatic but spontaneous. Nurturing but competitive. Peaceful but energetic. I definitely have an adventurous streak. I love hiking, biking, rollerblading, and kayaking. Mostly anything outdoors and I'm there. However, I do like my downtime. I enjoy reading and watching movies. I also love dancing. I used to dance competitively but now I mostly do it for fun. Ceili dancing is my favorite followed by ballet and tap.

I have two cats that been with me forever so please don't make me choose. If you cannot stand pets, then I'm not for you. I would love to have a large yard one day and have chickens in my garden.


Words of Wisdom:
Flossing is important. Laughing is essential. Perfection is impossible. Better to be single than to be in a bad relationship and if it's worth it, I'll work for it; if it's not, I won't. Don't say anything you'll regret because you can't take it back.

I'd rather be with a guy who has big dreams and no money than a guy with no dreams and big money. I must admit, I like a bit of a bad boy -- not an awful, I'm-going-to-treat-you-like-crap kind of guy, but someone who's going to push me to my limits and then pull back with a warm hug at the last minute. Truth is, I'm just a nice girl (most of the time) who's looking for some fun and companionship (not necessarily in that order). I love funny guys who can hold me spellbound with a story or make me laugh until I cry. I also love creativity and passion. But I will say that if you've got blue eyes, are a Great Big Sea fan or a part-time singer/guitarist, I'm already melting. If you are able to dance it would be amazing. If you have no idea who Great Big Sea is then that is just sad, but I will still give you a chance :) Blue eyes are also not a requirement...

So, my ideal date would be a nice hike at a state park and then go out for a coffee. This way if we do not click, not a long time was spent. I also love a good Omni-Max nature movie but we would definitely need to go somewhere afterward so we could talk.
