| | New profile 8/21/09.I have no hard and fast goals,they can change,I have dreams.I would hope the man who enters my life will be much the same, with his own slant on everything. I believe in kindness, integrity, caring for others.My profile is not the usual one for a senior woman.I've had one very full and different career which makes it necessary for me to be very self-protective about posting a photograph, PLEASE be understanding in this regard. When there is a serious interest I will provide one. I speak English, French and Russian fluently. I'm intrepid and well-traveled. I've often been described as "interesting".I am quite spirited, even
opinionated at times.
I am much more youthful in appearance and in everyday life than my chronological age suggests. I prefer slightly younger men because they are more lively and more in tune with new ideas than my contemporaries. They are more fun to be around and have a fresher viewpoint on life's changes.
Much of what I say next sounds like an ego trip, it isn't, I do most things quite well. My interest include gourmet cooking, gardening, reading, fine arts, needlework. In my second career I worked with color a great deal, I find that useful and creative in needlework, clothing and interior design.I have fine family antiques
and some of the skills I have help keep them in good condition. Classical music, opera,jazz, musicals, art galleries and museums are among my interests.I like to dance and go to good restaurants, I do not eat fast food.
It would be great to get to know a man who shares some of these interests, while also having his own, some of which I might possibly share. I would hope that he
would have moderate political views and an interest in world events.
To be honest I'm not a sports nut, television bores me except for in-depth newscasts.
This business of writing a list of expectations is rubbish. In conversation we can find out what we have in common, so please do not have a "shopping list". When we were all younger we did not go out with a card file on our requirements and I do not believe it is appropriate now. There is no "perfect situation" so please have an open mind, a closed one doesn't work well. I've heard nonsense about 60 miles being too far away, if the girl next door is the model you want I am not that girl. I'm a warm, sparkly, talkative, giving person, I seek some of those qualities in a man. I value honesty, integrity,loyalty. I dress well and conservatively, I look for that in a man. My interest is in your character, your emotional behaviour, your long range hopes, are they a good fit, then and only then can we get around to the physical. That is not to say that physical attraction does not matter. It does. But, and this is worth a lot of thought, it works best when there is commonality of interests. Then it becomes the frosting on life's cake. |

I do not consider the initial meeting a "date". For me the ideal first meeting involves a lot of conversation, exchanges of beliefs and ideas. What do we have in common, can we pursue mutual goals ? This is often easier to do when walking, or visiting a place of interest, sitting face-to-face over coffee or drinks usually turns into a sterile, stilted Q & A. This does nothing to help the people involved learn what is of value about each other.This is a first step in a voyage of discovery.I want to know about your character, your core beliefs. |
