I am a progressive thinking person. I like children and animals (used to have cats) and people who are open and curious. Am attracted to Buddhism but do not practice although I use to go to meditation. My main interest now as before is painting with oil and drawing. Am happy in the country surrounded by nature. I like water and have always lived on a coast. I love reading and I especially like travel stories as well as good writing in genera. Last year I went back to Vietnam for a second time to teach a summer program. The summer before I went to V to do the same and then traveled to Cambodia and Thailand for 2 months. Now that I am back, I am itching to go somewhere again. I do things on my own but would love to have a partner--fellow traveler. My goal is to write as well as paint more and find a more ideal setting as a base which may not be in this country. I am not a fan of winter. My taste in music is eclectic. I like the so called world music and much other. I am not a fan of heavy classical music or opera although at times I will listen to it. I like 20th century classical music. I like Jazz and listen to it on WBGO.

A first date would be sitting in a cafe with either a drink or coffee. Or possibly in a park and/or walking. Or could be spending some time in a museum or walking around NYC to galleries. It is important to talk to one another and/or write (email). I am definitely interested in a person who values communication as well as someone who wants to know who I am. I am not someone who talks all the time about myself (as do some women) nor am I able just to sit and listen to a guy expound about himself. Things are either give and take or forget about it baby.
