About me:
Generally positive and upbeat, with a sometimes ribald sense of humor. Active in my community and not hesitant to take a position of leadership, or as a field hand when asked to do so. Although I am very active in my faith community, I consider myself more spiritual than religious. (I live in the here and now...not waiting for the rapture...actually don't subscribe to that whole interpretation.)I prefer to walk the walk as opposed to talking the talk. I like to stay busy and active. Sleep is great to recharge, but I don't find it to be a very enriching hobby.
Even though I am a work in progress I don't need to be saved, bailed out, healed or bossed. My finances are in order and I am capable of managing my own affairs, or sensible enough to seek the counsel of a professional. I don't have ex's or over protective family interfering in my life. The operative word for my past is...well PAST. I think it is safe to say that I don't NEED a man, but a good man, the right man, would make my blest life all the sweeter.
Favorite things:
Blooming flowers, the work of a talented artist, an old friend,a new friend, purring cats, intelligent conversation, laughing 'til I cry, thunderstorms, full sails on a starboard tack,the hum of a keel, well prepared food, cotton sweaters, three inch heels, iced coffee and funky earrings.
Things I can do without:
Bigots,fundamentalists of any stripe, potholes, rudeness, weeds, cruelty, cancer and liars/cheats.


Now about THE man:
This is my fantasy so please indulge me while I day dream....
He is healthy in mind, body and spirit. He doesn't use illegal drugs or abuse perscriptions.He drinks in moderation, or not at all. He is a non-smoker. His finances are well managed. He is ambitious without being driven. He is willing to give of his time, talents and resources through community service. He sees a person based on their character rather than their ethnicity, social standing or how many toys they have parked in their driveway. If he doesn't share my religion or politics, he at least respects me for having the awareness to form an opinion. (I will say however, if he is a devoted Rush Limbaugh 'dittohead' or believes that FOX News is 'fair and balanced', we are NOT a match.)He is posessed of the kind of sense of humor that sees the irony and absurdity in many of life's situations, and allows him to face life with equanimity. If he can spell better than I, that would be a plus, too. Maybe he could teach all the rest of us the differance between 'quit', 'quite' and 'quiet'.

If you're shy about posting a public pic, that's understandable. I would expect a photo soon. You wouldn't go to a social event with a bag over your head, so why go to a social networking site with no pics? However, your high school graduation pic, or your dog/Harley/car don't count.

Something relaxed and casual...coffee, lunch..some place quiet enough so we can converse. Maybe a back door, so he can bolt if he wants to......
