Do you want children? Does not want children

About Me
Hola! Originally from Maine, I just landed here in March. I traveled for work for a couple of years prior to my arrival and felt the need to stand still for a while so here I am! Raleigh was a pretty random choice. I haven't been a complete hermit, but pretty close. There is a lot to experience here I'm sure but it's tough finding the motivation to check it out solo. I have found the beach, however, and that has provided me with much happiness! Being pummelled by waves is my idea of a great day. I'm not kidding. In Maine you have to be intoxicated or under 12 to be able to enter the water, so I am really liking the warm ocean! Now that fall is upon us I don't know what to do with myself! I've heard the mountains are gorgeous and have been trying to find the time to get out there.
The getting pummelled by waves is about the closest thing I have to a hobby. I don't do anything with any regularity. That's not to say I don't enjoy certain activities but don't want to give the impression of being Suzy Sporto by mentioning my enjoyment of kayaking, camping or hiking. It's been a while since I've done any of those things. I'm not terribly graceful or athletic but enjoy getting outside and working up a sweat. Good times!
Me: honest to a fault, moral, quirky, thoughtful, goofy, dog lover. Lover of all animals, actually- PETA material. I can find the humor in any situation and would love to find someone who can appreciate my humor. Tougher than it sounds....
Movies? Napolean Dynamite, Office Space, Role Models, Holy Grail, Superbad. I love a good thriller, too, but humor being such a big thing for me I wanted to throw out some clues. I love, love, love live music but haven't found a good place to enjoy it locally. Honestly, I haven't been trying too hard. I have no problem with solo road trips, vacations, etc. but when it comes to heading out at night solo, ehhhh....not so much. I've experienced Glenwood South, and it's nice, but.... it seems to attract a very young crowd. I don't care for DJ's or dance music. I lived in Austin before coming here and I think I was completely spoiled by the huge variety of GREAT music. Any suggestions (besides moving!)?
This concludes my efforts to describe myself in a few sentences online. Tough work! GAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!! ADDENDUM: I just remembered! I do have hobbies! I enjoy reading and traveling and do so whenever I get a chance. Phew! Also....I'm sure I'll miss out on meeting some fabulous guys after saying this, but it must be said....I'd rather meet someone whose children, if he has any, are grown. I've run into some issues with availability with you Dad sorts. I think it is wonderful you are involved in your childrens lives, I really do, but at this stage in the game I'm looking for someone who has time for yours truly. :) Ok. I told you I was very honest, so one more thing. If you have posted pictures of yourself without your shirt on, it is probable I would not like you. Fathers and shirtless men, please save the hate mail. To each his own, right?
First Date
Hmmmmm..... not very imaginative but my fav date scenario is grabbing a beer somewhere. Beer is great for eliminating nervousness about meeting someone for the first time AND it tastes good.
