After living in Silicon Valley for 30+ years I feel very fortunate to be able to retire and relocate to the Sierra foothills outside of Chico. I love waking up each morning and seeing the beautiful evergreen trees and smelling the fresh air. I love nature and most of my hobbies are centered around nature. Now hiking, biking, and golfing are just steps away and kayaking is just a short drive away. I also like to be outside gardening and enjoying the many scenes nature has to offer for watercolor painting.

I was raised in a musical family, and it is a big part of my life. I play all types of music on the piano, and I enjoy ballroom dancing to a variety of music. So, all in all, the arts and sports are where my heart lies. Although, it seems like I'm always experiencing new thing and adding to my list of hobbies.

These are some things that I feel are important in a relationship:

I enjoy good conversation with an interesting, intelligent man.
I am interested in an active companionship, I am not a couch potato.
I strive to be open minded, and I am looking for that in a partner.
Companionship is the most important thing at this point.
Commitment comes much later after companionship works.
As far as I see it in a successful relationship, we both need to give and we both need to be honest with each other.
I am looking for an equal partnership where we value each other's opinions.
I am not controlling and do not value that in a partnership.
My family is #1. They live locally and in San Jose and I spend as much time as I can with them.
Many times I love to be spontaneous, and do things spur of the moment.

I feel that after communicating with each other - meeting or e-mailing, we could decide on what we would like to do for a first date. I have many varied interests and would be open to a number of activities.
