It's so hard to describe myself on a dating website - but here it goes. I have 2 kids - a 13 year old daughter who lives with me, and a 22 year old son who doesn't. Was married 26 years - I chose divorce after too many years on the roller coaster ride. I'm a pretty optimistic person. Life is good. You live and you die - better make darn sure you're happy in between.I'm basically creating a whole new me now. Already dated my rebound guy - so i found out how nice it is to be treated like a lady, have fun, laugh - I mean genuinely laugh so much it hurts. I just want to get back out there and see how exciting and interesting my new life can be. And of course - as it should be - my daughter is my #1 priority.
I actually like all kinds of music now - used to be rock when I was young, then country for many years - and even some of the music my daughter likes.
I think what makes me unique is that after so many years of indecision that I finally had the courage to leave an unhappy situation and face the future without the "security" I once had. I knew life was going to be harder for us - but that life was going to be much happier. I really came to life after being "dormant" for so many years. Like I said "Life is good" - and I now look forward to finding out what kind of different and exciting people are out there. I know I'm a much happier, and much more fun person now. It feels good to laugh so much.
I'm sure I will be changing this message soon - there will be more interesting things to say once I get used to doing this sort of thing.

On a first date I would like to meet for dinner, conversation - and laughter - a chance to get to know each other. On future dates, maybe a movie, a play in Chicago, a baseball game, a local festival - nothing too elaborate or expensive - just a chance to get to know each other.
