Do you know the airspeed velocity of an unladen swallow?

It's very important I find someone who can help with this, as I'll be moving on to the topic of dead parrots and what defines an argument.

I'm one of those guys who has what some may call "unusual qualifications". I started out in tech writing, set forth to live and work in Japan, then came back here to re-establish myself and has just started up my own business doing logos, graphic design and setting up websites!

I also have a bit of the travel bug in me. So far I've been to several different areas of Canada and the U.S.A., England, Japan, Korea, Thailand, and Indonesia and...hmm, that's it. Oh, I'm afraid that won't do...gotta go visit more countries!

A good match for me contemplates the finer points in life...the best way to eat an Oreo, how they'd spend a million dollars, and how they get the caramel inside the Caramilk bars. She's probably eager to share the method she's perfected for eating an Oreo cookie (and might actually be typing it up for me now).

Out on a date, I'm an absolute gentleman - with a touch of mischief to keep things interesting. I'll hold the door open for you and offer up my coat on a cold night, then I'll whisper something racy in your ear because I love the way your eyes light up when you're feeling frisky. (Obviously, NOT first date material). On the other hand, I know how to be serious when the time calls for it. Like most people with some life experience, I've had a long term relationship before, and it would be nice to find one more. I'd like to meet a woman who makes me want to stay in bed and cuddle when I should be getting ready for work (bonus points if you're an awesome little spoon), and when I think of her, I don't want to be able to hide that lovestruck grin on my face.

This being the real world, nobody falls head over heels with someone just by looking at a profile or sending a message. You have to do a lot of fishing before you find your catch, and we're likely going to have a few dates before a nice match comes along. So let's take it as it comes, enjoy each other's company, and see what happens next. If the chemistry is there, we'll know how to handle it, but if you just wanna be friends or email buddies, well that's fine too.

SOME THINGS I'M GOOD AT:

1. Computers/Graphic Design/Drawing.
2. Solo sports like swimming, cycling, skating and skiing.
3. Team sports like basketball, baseball, lawn bowling (!).
4. Singing/Remembering song lyrics. (Take me to a karaoke joint and I'm all in! Ever seen the whitest guy you know singing in Japanese?)
5. Learning new languages (even if I horribly mangle the accent at first).

A FEW OF MY FAVOURITES:

Books: Lately, I've been into anything written by Douglas Adams and 'Emergency' by Neil Strauss.

Movies: Too many to mention here, although I love anything directed by Michael Moore and the McD's documentary 'Super Size Me'. I also enjoy a good superhero flick now and again, any film in the James Bond series, and the odd Monty Python flick.

Music: Yes, please - everything and anything! Right now I'm re-discovering 70s and 80s music. (Ah, the good ol' days!) I'm also into a bit of J-Rock and J-pop (like Hikaru Utada and Mr. Children).

Food: Japanese, Chinese, Thai, Vietnamese, Italian, German, Spanish, Mexican...In fact, I'm willing to try just about any type of food once!

I'm pretty much up for anything, whether it'd be going to see a play outdoors, bowling, or meeting up for a dinner and coffee. We could pass on all the stuffy interview questions and just relax. First dates are not to be taken too seriously, after all.
