Hi, my name is Lon, and I'm one of the few native Angelenos who is actually grounded, reliable, and down-to-earth, or so I've been told. I never thought I'd be quoting a famous Britney Spears' song for a dating profile headline, but I'm finding more and more that it is true---there really are 2 types of women out there I have found: ones that can hang with me, and ones that are scared. The "ones that can hang with me" like the fact that I'm really into working out and keeping a healthy lifestyle (while still throwing in an occasional large bag of peanut butter M&Ms eaten in ONE sitting!), like the fact that I'm very romantic, attentive, mature and responsible, while at the same time sporting a big, fun, goofy personality that allows me to easily talk to just about anyone, to get up and sing my lungs out at a karaoke bar, plan my Halloween costume months in advance, and to try to find the humor in most things. On the other hand, the "ones that are scared" assume that just because I take pride in my appearance that I must be either conceited, or a player, or that because I am so into fitness that they can never be enough for me, which is really insane, considering that I am the one pursuing THEM (so obviously, they ARE enough for me----am I missing something?)!!


I love watching and following most sports, but I am by no means glued to the TV set in order to do so. As I earlier mentioned, I also love to karaoke sing, dance the night away, go hiking, kick box (I actually have studied karate for about 10 years now), travel, and just hang with my many awesome friends and family members that I'm so blessed to have. When it comes to my music tastes, I'm about as eclectic as you can get, loving rock (new stuff, 80's metal, and classic rock), old skool (yes, it is spelled that way), R & B, Hip Hop, 80's music, and even some country. I try to take in an occasional concert and also love to hear live music, esp from a good cover tune group.


I work as a physical therapist, mainly at a skilled nursing home in Santa Monica, specializing in geriatric rehabilitation. It's definitely a good career that I plan on doing indefinitely, but my true talent is my ability to draw and to just be creative. I have done some personal training, too, and I love doing that, as well. It's great to get people in better health/shape, and both venues give me that opportunity.


I live in West Los Angeles, and I really prefer to date women within 20 miles, but I can make an exception for someone who is amazing. That brings me to what I am looking for in a woman. I must admit that I DO need to have a strong physical attraction, and while I do have a "type," I have often happily veered from that type, so why bother to even mention it here? And, in all honesty, looks will only go so far---your heart and character and the way you treat me will be what REALLY gets me into you! If you are unreliable and flakey, we won't be a good match. If you are the type who thinks nothing of returning a phone call more than a day later without a good reason, we also won't be a good match. And please be able to stand on your own 2 feet financially, and hopefully without a lot of credit card debt.


I want to find the woman I can spend the rest of my life with, one who's favorite time of the day is when she lies down next to me to drift away into sleep and who's second favorite time of the day is when she wakes up next to me. And be assured that I will make her my PRIORITY--not just my option!

Ideally, On a first date, I think we should have dinner with each other's parents. TOTALLY JOKING!! No, seriously, on a first date, I usually like to have dinner and go dancing or karaoke sing. I like to be in an environment in which we can really speak to each other, one that is fun and light-hearted and/or romantic. I'm very lucky in that I can easily blend into different environments (kind of like a chameleon), so I'm not too hung up on where I am, as long as I'm with good people.
