 About Me
Some would say I am reasonably intelligent, a decent conversationalist, idependent, have a sense of humor and can be comfortable in almost any social setting. Laughter, lightheartedness and sensuality are my passions. I enjoy being around people, I especially enjoy being with one very special person, but I am also perfectly OK spending time alone. I have an inquisitive spirit, enjoy meeting new people, learning and exploring new venues. I am a doer, not a viewer -- I seldom watch sports. I do enjoy cooking for special friends and family. I am retired, have no schedule and no dependents (except for dogs). There are some who would say that I am mult-talented. My careers have ranged from a profession to the trades and much more. I tend to gravitate towards challenges and walk away from the mundane and ordinary. I'm a moderate in most aspects of life - I am secure with who I am and accepting of the nuances of others. Those who know me feel that my best traits are loyalty and stick-to-it-tiveness -- I never say I will do something and then not do it; I do complete whatever I begin. I am who I am, I have no hidden agendas.

I hope to find an adventuresome companion, confidant, friend and lover who enjoys being a lady in public yet can act with complete abandonment when in a private setting. (insertion: MY BIRTHDATE has an error and cannot be changed now. I AM 66 ! ) Expressive eyes and an easy smile always attract my attention as well as a woman who is self-confident, enjoys holding hands, yet is independent, outgoing, witty, diverse and articulate. She should be comfortable in casual attire including jeans. Enjoying travel --whether a daytrip or a flight to a distant destination for a week or more-- would be a definite plus as would having a plethora of talents and interests. She should be affectionate, like to touch and be touched and be comfortable with who she is.

 First Date
Responding to this question is a challenge because there are so many variables starting with a very simple thing, what are weather conditions on that day?? From there the variables escalate. A general answer is the safest, but it is also the most obvious. Mutually choose a place / activity on neutral ground which would be public or semi public where conversation could flow freely and develop a sense as to whether to do further explorations or part as friends. A location which allows for as much eye contact as possible. To me, that would exclude most restaurants or bars due to noise levels and crowded conditions. It also negates a movie or a club. It might be sensible to walk the trails or beach at Reid State or Popham. Warning, the kid in me might bring a kite or a ring and bottle to blow bubbles from. Or perhaps park at Portland's Payson Park and walk the Back Cove trail to the Old Port... partake of a breakfast and coffees, or have a lunch or adult beverage at the Portside or Jay's Oyster's outdoor tables? Or have the fun of building a picnic basket together and heading out to a special place with finger foods, bread and wine? Or hike to the top of Bradbury Mountain with trail foods? Or head to a clamshack at the water, perhaps adjacent to Two Lights or at Pine Point? Or pack fruit, cheese & wine and canoe to an island? Or head out to a Maine diner at off hours for roadfood? Or tour a museum or art gallery? Or take in a show or auction at Owl's Head? Or take a blanket to the Eastern Prom to boat and people watch? Or take a river cruise, harbor cruise, perhaps a trainride to Rockland? Amtrack to Boston for a daytrip? And my point is? Whatever works in the moment, I tend to not overplan - spontaneity of the momemt is the best for me. Of course, those choices assume that summer will soon appear in Maine.
