I am a vibrant, fit, healthy, naturally virile, active guy who is young at heart and in many other ways. I am a manly man with a strong intellect and a compassionate nature. I come from hardworking Scandinavian extraction, grew up in W.Va., lived in Michigan for 25 years, Dallas since 1982, and am a semi-retired corporate attorney. I am an avid movie goer, prolific reader, occasional writer, love impressionist art (especially Monet), live theater, TexMex food, traveling, dancing and much more. I work out frequently and play golf regularly. On the looks side, my photos are recent, I have blue eyes to die for and a smile that will melt butter but I am not the pretty boy type. As for fashion, you will find me most often in my blue jeans but I do own a tuxedo that gets used on special occasions. I am a fiscal conservative but a liberal on social issues (i.e. I am fervently pro-choice). In terms of religion/values, I am a principle centered, secular humanist (Unitarian), prefer self determination to dogma (which means that those of certain conservative religious persuasions will not find me appealing) and am spiritually quested (which means that I do not profess to have all the answers and do not like to hang with people who do). On the money side, I am successful and have ample resources for retirement but I am careful with my expenditures and am not a materialistic, keep up with the crowd, type person. I am a true and natural egalitarian and, in that vein, I am looking for a woman to be my partner and not a dependent that I boss around. Physical appearance is not the be all and end all for me but it is essential for there to be mutual attraction and, with that in mind, since I put myself out there and posted photos, I feel it is only fair that I get to see a photo to aid me in my decision as well.

My wishes are simple but hard to achieve. I wish for a woman with whom there is foundational chemistry upon which a loving relationship can be built. A woman who is bright, open-minded, healthy, adventurous, sensual, has a zest for the natural pleasures of life, loves to go to the movies frequently and is ready and available to spend lot's of quality time with the right guy. Stimulating conversation, mutual respect, being grownup but playful and a good sense of humor are essential.

As for getting to know each other through the Internet, I have found it to be a great way to be introduced to people I would not otherwise meet in my day to day life. But I have also found that no amount of e-mailing back and forth will tell you whether the other person is someone with whom you have that foundational chemistry I referred to above. You have to meet them face to face to know that. So, after the initial exchange of e-mails {I do not like to spend a lot of time going back and forth with e-mails (when it comes to typing I am all thumbs and slower than molasses)}, I prefer to speak on the phone and, if that goes well, set up a meeting in some nice safe public place like a Barnes & Noble coffee shop. From my experience, I have found that visiting with the other person in a live back and forth, give and take conversation is much more illuminating than the other options.
