The thing that sucks most about online dating, or dating in general, is that when you start doing it again, you're reminded of just how much you dislike the process.

That being said, here we are again, back in the dating pool with our swimmies and our goggles, trying to put the best face we can on a situation we'd all rather not be in.

I'm sorry if this is overly narrative, but all my life I've been a writer in one form or another. I used to write poetry in high school, and when I went to college I majored in print journalism and upon leaving school, worked as a newspaper reporter.

Now I'm a court reporter, which doesn't involve as much creative writing, or really lending my own voice to things (I basically type other people's words) - so when I'm not doing that I like to try my hand at writing screenplays. It's a slow process, but since I'm not in a committed relationship right now, I have a lot of time to think of stories and jot down ideas.

I just moved out to Suffolk County in the middle of May. I'm renting a house and it's been wonderful so far. Living in Eastern Suffolk is like living in upstate New York - everything is so spread out and there's so much in way of open land and space its such refreshing change from the 6th borough - Nassau County.

I haven't found much to do here yet, but in terms of a general idea of what I like to do - I love watch movies - I'm a bit of a film buff. I like bowling and pool and the beach and usual activities like that. I'm pretty easy going, so whatever sounds like fun I'd pretty much be up for.

Let's see, what would I do on a first date? Well, I'm not to knowledgeable of the whole Suffolk area and the things to do - but I'd like to get to know whoever I was going out with - so anything we'd do would have to involve lots of conversation and getting to bounce stories off one another.

I'm a sucker for a girl who gives good conversation.
