About Me

*** "Never be afraid to try something new. Remember, amateurs built the ark. Professionals built the Titanic" ***

*****************************************************************************************************

It's official; I'm a fun loving, independent 21 year old woman with 33 years experience! You’d call me a happy go lucky lady who's sparkly and has a natural curiosity about life. I'm an incurable optimist who puts a positive spin on everything, so I could get over it one day. If you have a good sense of humour and enjoy a simple life we're on the same page.

Recently someone asked me what my intentions were with this whole dating thing. I'm here looking for friends to start with and hope to someday meet that one special person to spend my life with. I expect the universe and chemistry will work out all the details. In the meantime, making friends and spending time with new people is a nice bonus.

Life is a work in progress and I'm back in school for a while before starting the next chapter of my life. When I finish school, I'd like to move to Vancouver Island, the Sunshine Coast or a small town near the ocean where I can enjoy more nature with less city travel. As beautiful as Vancouver is, the wilderness is still my favourite place to visit. Someday soon I'd love to learn to kayak and take up a few new non-extreme outdoor sports and hobbies.

Traveling south is in my future too. Lucky me with an open invitation from a relative who has a normally empty house between Ixtapa and Acapulco :) Last winter while on sabbatical there I was blessed to spend a night in a very small secluded pueblo, off the beaten path with a beach that was almost deserted. It was truly my kind of place...a bit rustic but oozing with authentic Mexican charm. I stayed in a small motel right on the ocean, nothing fancy but brimming with atmosphere. The people were friendly, the food delicious and the view from the open patio restaurant overlooking the ocean was divine. I walked the shore and treasure hunted, then played in the waves until the sun was setting. The warm ocean breezes swayed the palms as I floated in the pool looking up at the stars twinkling and a sliver of the new moon shone overhead...it was truly a magical occasion.
Dos cervezas, por favor? Yes, I believe Spanish lessons are in my future!

My radio is usually on. I listen to soft rock, the Blues, and enjoy anything with a good beat or haunting melody. PBS, TLC, Discovery channel and documentaries are about the only things I watch on tv other than Survivor. Movies can be a good form of entertainment and one day I'll make time to watch a few more of them. I read (learn) online most days and love getting pictures, notes and jokes from my friends and family. My son and daughter are grown but we are very close and get together whenever schedules allow.

First Date
Scenario #1
We could meet on the beach for coffee in the early afternoon. After a nice conversation we decide the "spark" is there and then begin to walk the beach. The afternoon wears on, we walk while talking for hours, laughing about the things we have in common. We stop for dinner at a restaurant overlooking the water and enjoy watching the sun go down. Perhaps some live music, even a dance or two. A kiss goodnight if we really hit it off.

Scenario # 2
Savary Island Pie

Scenario # 3
Coffee...with Baileys please.
