I am secure & happy on my own but life is meant to be shared. I pride myself on never being afraid to try anything once. I am a 42 years old but am often told I look more like I am in my low to mid mid 30's. I would describe my personality as friendly and positive. No matter what the situation, I always try to have fun and am always trying to make people laugh and smile. I take it upon myself to make those around me feel comfortable and welcome.

The things I look for in a woman are a sense of humor, honesty, sincerity and most importantly, a great smile. Inner beauty is just as important to me as outer beauty. I would like to meet someone with whom I can to share deep intelligent conversation, exchange jokes or say nothing at all. I like to be active and on the go and I like women who enjoy the same. I would like to meet someone with positive energy and a desire to be happy. Life is a journey not a destination; a marathon, not a sprint. Take each day as it comes and don't sweat the small stuff.

I do as much as I can to stay in good shape. I workout at least 2-3 times a week or more if time permits. I enjoy running, biking, rollerblading and golfing. If you looked at my MP3 player, you would find a good amount of Dave Matthews, BoDeans and Jimmy Buffett (yes, I’m forever trapped in the 90’s). I finally went to see Buffett again last summer after a 5 year hiatus.

As for my professional life, I am a software architect. This can entail anywhere from managing a $5m dollar project all the way down to writing code. I work full time for an insurance company but I don’t need to travel much so my evenings and weekends are usually free. I also do some free-lance software development.

I love going on vacations to tropical destinations. Cancun, Puerto Vallarta, Key West or any Caribbean cruise would be among my favorites. Las Vegas is also high on my list of places to visit. I have not travelled abroad much. I would love to visit Europe at some point in my life. I have been to Turkey twice. Most people would not think twice about visiting Turkey but it’s one of the most beautiful, and historic places I have visited.

One of my favorite pastimes is spending time in downtown Chicago. We live near one of the greatest cities in the world and we should appreciate it as such. It seems like no matter where or when you go, there is always something to do. I enjoy biking on the lakefront, visiting the museums or just taking in the scenery and architecture. As for the nightlife, I prefer dinner and a show over "clubbing" but as I said, I am open to most anything.

I am a person who likes to have fun and get the most out of life. Lets spend some time getting to know one another and see where it goes. What do you have to lose? ;-)

Perhaps meeting for a cup of coffee or metting for lunch. This would allow us to get to know one another and see if our personalities match. After that, dinner or spending an afternoon downtown.
