About Me
Right -- the "about me" part.. Well -- I guess I'll start with my interests, which are kind of all over the place. A few examples are landscape photography, adventure travel, home improvement projects, hiking (when it's not raining, which seems like never these days), National Geographic channel, Web site design, hanging out at home / in the yard, etc. My house backs watershed, so it's just cool to hang and see what comes through.
I'm also into the simple pleasures (along with everybody else I guess), like a good steak on the grill, a glass of wine after an inevitably stressful day (technology loves to break), walking around the yard looking at the detail, hot coffee on a cold morning, a fire in the fireplace -- you get the idea.
Professionally, I'm in IT -- datacenter management mainly, although I do a few other things for the company I work for. I stay pretty busy and get some side work here and there with Photography and Web site development. I'm not much of a sit around kind of guy, which is probably both good and bad, but it is what it is.
I'd like to find a woman that's down to earth (I know, the ultimate cliche), doesn't take herself - or life in general - too seriously, can laugh at herself as easily as she can laugh at someone else, is adventurous (at least to some degree), and owns a pair of shoes that can be worn in the dirt. I'm a low maintenance guy hoping to find an equally low maintenance partner. I'm of the opinion that a good relationship that's based on a solid foundation should be fun and, for the most part, effortless.
First Date
I'm sure I could get really creative here in an effort to sell my romantic wit, but the reality is that a first date would probably consist of a few drinks somewhere, along with good conversation (hopefully good, that is ;-). I think you need to get an initial feel for a person in order to determine if there's anything there. I know -- "F" for creativity!!
