I own my own home and have a truck, a car and a 5th wheel trailer that I have been itching to take camping (I'm not real big on the tent camping thing). I am debt free except for my house and am looking for someone responsible.

I am a medically retired police officer. I hurt my neck and back on duty as an officer for Oakland P.D. I learned a lot of things as a police officer and miss the work with the people but not the politics or bureaucracy. For now, I am a stay at home dad (harder job but they don't shoot at me)

I have been divorced for 3 years now and separated for 5. I have 3 little boys that I love very much and I like when they are with me. I am not a dead beat dad and I have my boys every other week (and am current on my child support). When they are gone, I would like to find someone to spend my time with in the hopes of ultimately finding long term.

We all have issues, and I have them too. I know what it is like to have a spouse leave and drag me along for what seemed like forever, so I am not a good "chaser" in that my experience was that it was a waste of time and a game to be a part of the "chase". Sorry, it doesn't mean that I am not interested, it just means that I want to be sure that I put my effort into someone who is interested in me too. (yes, trust me I am completely over my ex)

I want to feel like I am lucky to be with whoever I am with, and I want them to feel the same about me.

My profile says "a few extra pounds" because I am honest. I don't have 6 pack abs and probably never will. Most people would never guess my weight since I am tall. Having said that, be truthful. Round is not "curvy".

I have never been great at dating, however I would rather be bad at dating than be good at getting divorced. I have just returned in the last year and a half to the dating scene. So if I am not original in my date ideas, that wouldn't be a surprise to me. I am up for just about anything with the right company.

I am big on communication so I prefer to talk in person or on the phone than email, IM or text. Tone, emotion, sarcasm and etc. get lost without the voice and body language. I am a talker and like to have someone who can listen but also challenge me with return conversation. I am really seriously not interested in emailing back and forth and /or calling someone forever. I am here to meet people to go out with and would like to do that.

I don't know that I have a preference per se, other than I like the characteristics that most guys like (you already know).

I go to church weekly in the Roseville area even though I live in Woodland. I am not a bible thumper but I believe in God and that He has a plan for us.

I am not interested in smokers, especially 420 or 11500 (if you know what 11500 is then you are in law enforcement or have been arrested by someone who is)
