Water - in it, beside it, above it, near it - that's my favorite place to be. I have been active on swim teams since I was 11, and still work out with masters swim teams as often as possible. I also love beaches, lakes, rivers, and mountain streams. Just being around, on or in the water totally relaxes me.

I love exploring new places and fortunately have a great job that allows me to travel regularly both domestically and internationally. It's always more fun with someone else though. Favorite places that I have been include Yellowstone, San Francisco, New Orleans (lived there), western North Carolina, northern Wales, Austria, South Africa, and Botswana. Some places I want to visit are Alaska, China, Norway, Tanzania, and New Zealand.

I enjoy being outside exploring new parks and trails. I love camping, particularly on Assateague. I just don't like it when the flies are biting. If you have been there in August, you know what I mean.

Learning doesn't stop when you leave school. I love reading, music, plays, museums, and cultural events. I learn a lot from all of them. I like to understand how and why people take various positions, and how and why things work like they do.

I'm interested in finding someone I can build a relationship with. The men I am most attracted to are smart and active, and they care about people in general. They have set goals in life and accomplished some of them. They have a general idea of what they want to do in the future. They have good relationships with their families and children, have travelled some and know about different parts of the world. They are honest, respectful of others, have a good sense of humor, recognize the fun in life, and know how to laugh.

Coffee seems to be the usual first choice, but I am open to all sorts of ideas. I'm not a big shopper, but one of my favorite dates (proposed by a guy) was Christmas shopping. We ended up at a store that had a variety of massage chairs. We tried them all, talking, and listening to the holiday music. It was great fun. In the summer, there are LOTS of free things to do in this area - outdoor restaurants, concerts, and hikes.
