About Me
I've moved around a lot and have been self employed most of my adult life. Just to share some of what I've done; a massage therapist and green builder for years, worked for an airline for awhile, caretaker of a permaculture farm for awhile; and where I'm going, on my way to becoming an RN, & going to specialize in emergency care because I'd like to know how to help and believe that I have the temperment to handle it.
I've always stayed fit, and believe that Joseph Pilates was correct when he said that it is impossible to truly be happy without being physically fit. I've spent a great deal of time practicing Tai Chi Chuan and yoga. Mostly I prefer outdoor activities, unless I've a partner to explore some indoor fun with.
For hobbies, I mountain bike, dance(am currently learning to salsa), read, play baseball, and spend time with my kids when I'm not at work or school. I have my own ideas about how life should be lived and won't compromise them, so tend to keep as friends only those that don't attempt to apply their priorities to me, as I'll respect them enough not to do so to them. I'm continually striving to improve myself in every aspect, by asking myself where are my weaknesses and working on them more than my strengths.
As far as music, I enjoy quality in any style. I do tend to lean towards jazz and blues, but also like reggea and classical, or alt. rock and gospel, depending on my mood. When it comes to a live show, I tend to mainly consider whether the crowd will be more participatory as opposed to just standing there as a spectator.
I have found that the only way to increase one's joy in living is to share it with someone, and I'm reaching a place where I'd like to share the adventure with someone that can stimulate my mind and spirit as well as my body and challenge me to realize my potential. I, of course would be looking to do the same. I'm only drawn to investing time in participants in life, not spectators, who realize how fleeting and precious it is and don't want to waste any of it on less than stellar friends. So if you are a light in the world and can radiate joy in being alive and of service to the world, contact me and let's see if we can burn brighter together than apart.
First Date
Spend some time in nature where we can move a little, swimming, hiking, biking, and carry on a conversation without a lot of distractions. And if our energies match, followed by sharing some food and drink, and finish the evening with some good live music and dancing.
Scholar/Athlete/Monk has 2 roses that can be sent.
