About Me
ROCK! \m/(-.-)\m/

Short story:
I'm an INTP, Aquarian cusp, born in the Year of the Rabbit (those chinese placemats also warn me to avoid C.o.c.k.s at all costs – and that sounds like solid advice to me honestly), made of one part brainy, one part rock n' roll, and a healthy dash of O.M.G. (once you get to know me better...)

Longer story:
I'm originally from upstate NY, but I’ve bounced around a lot of cities such as: Boston, Nashville, Raleigh, Milwaukee, Flint, Roanoke, Winston-Salem, Vaasa Finland, Zurich Switzerland, etc etc over the last 16 years – mostly due to career opportunities and wrapping up dual Masters from MIT.

While I've met a lot of awesome people as a result, it's been hard to stay tight with old friends after moving on. Now I’m about to transfer from NC to TX permamently (been flying down here weekly), and I'm very much looking forward to meeting some fresh faces in Austin. And you know what, I could really use a tour guide... ;)

So let’s see... I love to play volleyball, I like filling up passports with stamps, I dig playing Rock Band with my kids when I have em, I’m always on the hunt for great sushi places, I frequently take long roadtrips with my iPod blaring to go see my two girls, I love love love spicy foods and an occasional import draft while playing trivia in sports bars with my friends, I feel compelled to stare at the stars whenever possible, Ive been known to go WAY out of the way to pull off a good practical joke, and I still believe that tailgating outside an NHL hockey arena is always a great way to spend a day.

I don't enjoy (on the flipside): being the last one to board a Southwest flight (it’s like picking dodgeball teams for adults), animals that drool excessively (not a deal-breaker though if ya have one), more than half the people who drive on the highway, Monday mornings (ok - most mornings tbh - I was absolutely born a night owl), most TV in general (with particular enmity for Menthos, Extenze and Snuggie commercials), drinking coffee (say wha?), having to travel to Juarez Mexico without a kevlar vest on, umm did I mention doggie slobber(?), oh… and for the most part nearly ALL country music.

Ahhhhhhh see -> you were willing to give me a pass on the coffee issue cuz ya could at least drag me to Starbucks for a venti Tazo, but knocking country music = unread/delete yeah?

OK ok ok, how about when you drive, it's your radio and vice versa - fair enough?!?

Speaking of which... I do like a wide range of music genres, but if you like Weezer, the Toadies, the Foo Fighters, Silverchair, the Cult and/or Muse in particular then we are going to have a blast singing in the car (or maybe in the shower...). Err.. ok that last bit didnt necessarily imply us *both* being in the shower - it's just that I've got no shame singing in there when by myself see and - ok, stop staring at me, you're making this all very awkward...

Right! Where was I? Oh - so, I watch very few movies more than once, but of the ones I do, my favs include: Fight Club, Memento, Snatch, Resevoir Dogs, Napoleon Dynamite, Clerks, My Best Friends Girl, and Meet the Parents.

I see ya still reading way down here -> its okay to drop me an message really, I don't bite!

First Date
Something like a movie or a crowded bar wouldnt excite me too much as it's too hard to really get to know each other. A quick lunch or a coffee shop sounds like a safe bet sure - but something a little more active sounds better to me (you know to get over those first-date jitters)... such as getting booted permamently from a go-kart track perhaps? YES!

No matter what, ok you can do the whole "Oooh wow you're tall" thing - but please dont tell me I "must be awesome at basketball". UGH... Be original with it - like, err - wonder aloud what giraffes mating must look like, etc. Now THAT'd get my attention.

Maybe too much for a first date, but my favorite evening spent would probably go something like: a clear night, a bonfire and s'mores, an 8" schmidt-cass telescope, several comfy folding chairs, an active meteor shower, a laser pointer, some bug spray, a cooler, a few good friends, lots of laughs, a Snuggie, a pack of Menthos and some Extenze. If you've paid attention, you can scratch off three items from the list.

1l2Hawk has 2 roses that can be sent.
