Not sure what to expect from this site - but in the end, hoping to find someone to have a deep conversation with at times, and absolutely moronic ones at others. Someone that enjoys a quiet night in or a random adventure around the city - or a nice walk around a park. If you are able to see the humour in something so simple or asinine as Spongebob - big plus (but not necessary). Intelligence is a definite turn-on.

I am a fairly easy going straightforward guy, quiet at times and verbose at others (depending on situation - and people - and sometimes stick my foot in my mouth by saying things straight up one might not expect when first meeting someone, but that's me). Hobbies include reading, hiking, skating, skiing, golfing, travelling and just hanging out watching a film or playing a game. Hopefully find someone who is okay with having their own adventures and allow me to have my own - yet wanting to share in some together more often than not.

I am an English teacher - which results in a fair bit of marking - but I try to manage my time and make sure I have time for myself each week. The end of a work week, it is just nice to sit back and share a bottle of wine or a nice walk. I like a nice restaurant from time to time, but also like to cook (not a great cook or anything, but I like to cook a few decent meals through the week)

Music taste – as long as it is not Rap or Techno/Dance it’s okay by me (Bon Jovi, Beatles, Coldplay (new not old), Elliott Smith, Jack Johnson, Killers, Queen, OneRepublic …etc).
Movie taste - definites: ANything by Wes ANderson and Tim Burton, The Cohen Brothers and anything Shakespeare related (adaptations in one form or another good or bad) oh, and film noir from the 30s-50s I could watch anytime. Other than that, I am willing to watch just about anything and everything ... good or bad ... if it is on the table as an option.

I used to play hockey, but now I enjoy it from the sidelines by watching games - pretty much only follow two teams, The Canucks and, well, another team Canuck Fans would disapprove of .... I grew up in Calgary so don't hold that against me (Linden and Iginla are my two favourite players). Someone who enjoys watching a few games is not necessary, but a bonus.
