I'm a quirky gal from Boston and who has lived in New York for the last several years. I studied Literature at an Ivy League University and then made the trek here to pursue a creative path, rather than a more sensible one as my folks would have preferred. I work at a hedgefund to pay the bills while I pursue a career in the performing arts. I consider myself smarter than the average bear and very much have a practical side to along with my creative self. I get along well with similar types-- intelligent, professional individuals who also have artistic interests.

My main hobbies are sports (particularly volleyball and tennis), theater, films (all-time favorite is "Pulp Fiction"), great literature (my favorite book is Nabokov's "Lolita"; I'm also a bit of an Anglophile and love the works of Jane Austen, the Brontes and Zadie Smith), exploring the city (still so much I haven't seen), checking out new restaurants and lounges, and talking politics or pop culture. I love breaking down the merits of a book, film or play. I love spirited discussions about anything creative. You want me in your book club!

It would be cool to meet someone who has humor and wit (I get along well with dry, sarcastic folks), intelligence, creativity, stability, good sense, a healthy dose of goofiness, and a clear idea of who he is, what he wants and where he is going in this life. I'd prefer a first date to be something brief and light, like coffee or a drink. But after getting to know someone initially, I enjoy dates that involve trying a nice restaurant, seeing a museum exhibit, doing something active like hiking or attending a sporting event, checking out a live musical performance or something as simple as a walk in nice weather. The best dates are the ones where it doesn't matter what you are doing as long as you are enjoying each other's company!
