I am very passionate about learning and trying new things; I'm currently taking Italian lessons, dance lessons and have an archery class coming up. I'm not quite sure where that will come in handy in San Diego, but what the heck. . .
I lived in Italy a while back, have traveled pretty extensively and have constant wanderlust, with a neverending list of places that I would like to visit and will. On the other hand there is nothing better than a rare rainy day in San Diego under a blanket on the couch with a great book or seeing a good movie.
I prefer having a few very close friends to a large circle of acquaintances.
I'm not the type of person who will just blurt out my life story, but very much enjoy getting to know people.
I do tend to be somewhat sarcastic, so you're warned. . .but never use that sarcasm to intentionally hurt someone's feelings.
I enjoy dressing up and going out, but also putting on a pair of hiking boots and getting out into nature. Yosemite is one of my favorite places on the planet.
Money and possessions don't impress me, in fact, just the opposite. I am impressed by strength of character, loyalty, consideration of other people, sense of humor, sincerity, passion about life and a nice butt. Just kidding.
What else . . .I'm a voracious reader, a former film major, so enjoy movies- everything from Fellini to Airplane. I love good food and wine, the smell of used bookstores, 1940's vintage clothing, records rather than CDs, Nina Simone and Chet Baker, vintage film cameras, dark chocolate vs. milk, the feeling of a comfortable silence between friends, laughing until it hurts and a good cappuccino.
I'm looking to see if there might be someone out there who shares some of my passions and quirks, but also has his own, doesn't need to be in a relationship, but agrees that some things are so much more fun when shared with someone.

I think meeting for coffee or a walk through Balboa Park is a fun, low pressure way to start to get to know someone and see if there's the potential for something more.
