The basics: I am 38, single, never married no kids. I think I am a bit of a late bloomer in life...it took me a while to figure things out, figure myself out, and get comfortable in my own skin, but I feel like I've come into my own during my thirties. I am an optimist and enjoy being around people who have a positive outlook on life as well. I'd much rather be single than be in a relationship just for the sake of not being alone. That being said, I would love to find someone with whom I have a real connection and who enhances my life. I like people who challenge me, who have views and opinions that are different than mine, and who can express themselves. More than anything too specific, I hope to meet someone who interests me and when we end the day or evening, I am left with the feeling that I want to know that person better.

Totally random facts: I like cheese and thunderstorms. I used to be a big fan of great white sharks, but now I'm more into not-so-great white sharks. I enjoy unintentionally funny movies. Roasted coffee is goooooooood. I think the color teal is truly an unfortunate choice for anything. Grasshoppers are creepy. Sushi rocks. One should never, ever eat at Applebee's or Chili's and consider it a date for any reason. I wish rum was full of nutrients. Most of my closest friends are people that I did not like at all upon first meeting them. I find it funny that people often misspell the word "misspell." I would go to culinary school if I won the lottery (I enjoy cooking, and I routinely force my friends to serve as taste testers for my food experiments). I love semicolons and ellipses. I have a mutt I got from the shelter...he looks like a dingo. I think you should have your cake and eat it too. Unless, of course, you are diabetic. In that case, you should probably have some sort of sugar free dessert.

Good weather, a patio, drinks, maybe some food, great conversation...a simple first meeting would be fine with me. Now a date...well, I can't give away all of my secrets here...
