Well, hmmm, let's see... there's music, always always - I've made my living at it for the last twenty years. And there are always movies, lately sixties and seventies drive-in fare. Don't forget the books - history and cooking and film studies and foreign languages. Never any television, never ever never. Play outside! I am at heart a classical musician, although my gigging is mostly a bit more funk / swing style of instrumental. At home I've been on a jag recently of memorizing and playing modern romantic music, meaning twentieth century, living composers mostly. I relax by playing swing.

That said, I love dance music (ex techno-head) and play on remixes every now and then. I've mixed more house records than I remember - if you went out to New York nightclubs in the last few years, you've probably heard something I worked on...

Right now I'm working on a (signed) series of ambient albums, very very sleep-oriented, deep sombient. My office and studio are in Chelsea, New York City.

I've traveled quite a bit, playing gigs and just goofing around. I try not to confine myself to the cultural filter I was raised with (an east-coast American)... I also believe strongly in volunteerism and helping in the community, wherever that might be.

As you can see from my poorly-lit profile photo, I have a library, which is mostly history and politics, but there are a handful of graphic novels and poker books in there too (I play poker - should I be admitting that?). The slot machine behind me has recently been committed to a sibling as a housewarming gift. Good riddance. I always lose on that stupid thing.
