I'm looking for a woman who is ok with taking things slow and becoming friends first... where it goes from there is anybody's guess, but I am ultimately hoping to find someone who believes in commitment. Someone who wants to share life experiences, who is at times spontaneous, and who has a desire for travel... be it a daytrip, weekend getaway, or foreign lands.

If you have a silly side, but can also engage in thought-provoking conversation... that's a definite plus. If you are an open person and wear your heart on your sleeve... that's even better. If you consider yourself intense and passionate... then we must talk. But most of all you must be a kind person... not just kind to those in your life, but kindness that extends to others... no you don't have to be a saint or Mother Theresa - that is not what I am looking for - but you must have a general sense of respect and compassion for people of all walks of life.

About me: I can be initially shy at first, but warm up quickly when I start feeling a connection. I do, however, lean toward the quiet side and tend to only speak up when I feel I have something meaningful or intelligent to say or when I feel passionately about something. I have a silly side, but I am also prone to occasional brief outbursts of sarcasm, which I'm working at correcting. I consider myself to be honest, but according to my friends I am at times probably a little too honest. I believe in patience and humility and I am learning to forgive and be selfless. I have been called a kind man by some people, which is the best form of flattery I have ever received because I think there needs to be more kindness in the world. I am, however, no saint, but I always strive to do the right thing. I believe in commitment and I also believe that passion never has to die when you are truly in love.

For a first date, I like to keep it informal and in a relaxed and public setting... let's say a cup of coffee or lunch.
