I am in desperate need of a friend and companion. I lost my best friend when my wife passed away. I need someone who will listen to me and also someone who needs someone to listen to them. In the past I was an avid reader( sci-fi, fantasy, mystery, historical novels). Now I'm really into computers and guitars. I build computers and repair and setup electric guitars.
I have gone through a lot of profiles on here, and it seems that all the women are dreaming of the perfect Prince Charming. The guy with all the money and all the time in the world to travel to exotic places. Life isn't that way, and if that is all you want from it, then you are looking in the wrong places.
Life and couples is about companionship, friendship, honesty, sharing and love. I'm not rich, and not a world traveler. I'm 62 years old, make a decent living, own my own mobile home, and am the nicest guy I know. What more could a girl ask for, really??
I am always trying to learn new things, it keeps the mind sharp.

My other hobby is Karaoke. I go out and sing at least twice a week and sometimes more. I sing old country ballads and sixties rock-and-roll. I like to be around people and to entertain them. Makes me feel good when I look out and see them enjoying my song.
I am an ex-smoker that dislikes the smell of cigarettes. I have learned to accept that others still like smoking and have learned to live with second hand smoke, as long as it's not in a real closed in area and doesn't burn my eyes.
Up above I tell you that I drink regularly, that doesn't mean that I am a drunk or alchoholic. It means that I like the taste of beer and sometimes a little Jack Daniels. 99 percent of the time I only drink 1 or 2 cans of beer and at other times a few more. I stop when I start getting a buzz. My livelyhood depends on my having a drivers license, so I watch how much I consume. And even the few times I have been well buzzed, I was a happy drunk, or just went to sleep. I don't have a mean bone in my body. Remember, I am the nicest guy I know.

First date would be meet at a restuarant for coffee or maybe a meal. Talk and get to know each other a little. See if there is a mutual attraction, see if our interest are somewhere near the same. When we see what happens, then we go on from there.
