About Me
I am a single mother to a 14 year old, and I am looking to meet single/divorced/widowed males for friendship, and possibly more if we get along. I love animals, reading, quiet walks in woods, camping, or just hanging out watching movies and talking. I also enjoy going to a local football game, playing video games with my son, or listening to a band play, whether it is country, classic rock, jazz, or even medieval music.
I am presently attending college part-time, working towards a career in computer programming. I also work full-time, so that does mean my free time is limited, but I will make time for the right person in my life.
What I like in a man is someone who knows what he wants and isn't afraid to go for it. Someone who is optimistic about life, and up for new experiences, but doesn't mind some quiet evenings as well. My ideal man is open and honest and understands the poem below. I hope everyone finds what they are looking for, and if you think that might be me, let me know. Have a great day!
ONLY A PERSON WHO RISKS IS FREE by Author Unknown
To laugh is to risk appearing the fool. To weep is to risk appearing sentimental. To reach for another is to risk involvement. To expose your ideas, your dreams, before a crowd is to risk their loss. To love is to risk not being loved in return. To live is to risk dying. To believe is to risk despair. To try is to risk failure. But risks must be taken, because the greatest hazard in life is to risk nothing. The people who risk nothing, do nothing, have nothing, are nothing. They may avoid suffering and sorrow, but they cannot learn, feel, change, grow, love, live. Chained by their attitudes they are slaves; they have forfeited their freedom. Only a person who risks is free.
First Date
Describing my ideal first date is kind of tough. I love the outdoors, but my job makes me spend all day in an office typing on a computer, Monday through Friday. When the weekend rolls around, I want to get outside, away from traffic and large crowds. Getting in harmony with nature, and releasing the stress of the work week. A day in a forest or state park, hiking on the trails, or just sitting down and watching nature all around and enjoying the beauty of the world. Spending time talking and really getting to know the other person, without distractions or interruptions.
