I guess this is the part where I write something incredibly insightful about myself in 50 words or less, unfortunately I’m not a writer so hang in there with me… or save yourself 3.5 minutes of your life that you’ll never get back and stop now…

I’ve been living in Austin for about a year and a half. I have a degree in Biology but work for an IT company where somehow the last two years have quickly flown by. Guess that means I'm happy??? Hmmm.

I can be incredibly boring and predictable in following my daily routine-- I try to eat healthy, go running, watch the news and go to bed early on weeknights, but on that same note I manage to squeeze in plenty of good times in between. I am not afraid to meet new people and have a good time but care a lot about the friends that have proven to be loyal throughout the years.

Most people think I look much younger than I am and if you get to know me- you start to see that there’s actually a method to my nonsense. Sometimes I go to a dog friendly cafe with my pet and read a book, other times I‘ve taken up random hobbies like bellydancing or tango or I’ve packed up my Yorkie and taken a roadtrip to Canada. Other times I've gone skydiving, spent an afternoon at a shooting range, cooked a three-course dinner, or gone backpacking through Europe- twice. Like I said, there really is a method to my nonsense, you just need to take a closer look to see it. I enjoy a glass of wine or a martini from time to time, but don’t mind getting my hands dirty and going hiking with my doggie and having a beer at happy hour. I’ve surprised plenty of people with my random ways, but all I gotta say is- don’t always believe what you first see, take a closer peek- you never know what you may find.

I like to be surrounded by positive people, so if someone’s bad news or brings me drama- chances are they’re no longer a part of my life. I’ve learned a lot about the world in the last few years, and have realized that life is what you make of it. I like to see new things as well as learn new things. My outlook on life is choosing to enjoy what I have right now because who knows if and when that may change. I am terrified of regrets, so I make a conscious effort to enjoy today and tomorrow and push myself to take a risk here and there so that I don't regret it later. That’s what fills my days and nights and what’s filled my twenties with life changing lessons. I have very few regrets because I constantly ask myself “what would make me happy?” Then I do it. Or stop doing it. Whichever. There’s just so much out there in the world! It’s amazing.

Wow… I’ve been typing for well over the 3.5 minutes I promised you at the beginning so I’ll wrap it up. Bottom line-- I’m an all around kind of gal that focuses on being happy overall, and at the end of the day—I just want to have fun and enjoy my life. And so far- I think I’ve succeeded at that much at least. =)

Did I mention that I love my family, my Yorkie and am addicted to travel?!? Oh and my favorite color is blue...

I find that first dates are usually the least stressful over a drink during happy hour...no pressure, no awkwardness, who can't let loose over happy hour? ;)
