I grew up in the middle of nowhere in upstate NY, and came to Austin to enter a PhD program in Business about three years ago, but work is a means to and end...not the end in itself.

I appreciate good: books, music, food, drink, and movies (doesn't take much to classify as a "good" movie). I'm always willing to experiment and try new versions/genres of all of these.

I like to play around in the kitchen...what some would refer to as "cooking". Can't claim it always comes out the way I expect, but I can definitely hold my own.

I enjoy travelling, but haven't done it nearly as much as I'd like. Switzerland and Italy (and a little France, Austria, Germany) pretty much sum up my international travel, but the travel bug is planted and I would go anywhere.

I'm a mountain junkie at heart and enjoy going places where my cell phone doesn't have a prayer of working.

I like taking a long drive or motorcycle ride without having a plan or destination.

I'm an active person, and play in many different sports leagues during the year, participate in outdoor activities of all kinds, and am always up for something new.

You: are adventurous and don't mind getting your hands dirty; don't mind the thought of spending several days in a tent; appreciate a night on the town or a night at home relaxing with dinner and a good movie; have a positive outlook, an active lifestyle, the ability to enjoy the little things that life throws your way; are willing to try the unrecognized thing on the menu (just because it's there).

The possibilities here in Austin are endless...festivals, outdoor activities, little dive restaurants and bars, bistros, coffee shops, shows...I'm full of ideas.
