Hi, thanks for stopping. Alright, here is where we all get to lay it out there. So to start, I'm a single Dad, to a 15 yr old, which has it's rewards & challenges. He contributes probably more than he knows, keeping me grounded, youthful and active. We are at that age were he knows everything, I could any hope to be so smart! Regardless, he is always a wonder to be around and I wouldn't trade him for the world or money...well maybe money..:-) He is finally getting old enough that he is developing his own interests and independence, so I find myself with more time available. I own my home, often have a project in the works or one being cooked up. Some things I enjoy such as yard work, others are just because. Have a wide variety of interests, although feels like I have neglected them lately. Enjoy whitewater rafting and kayaking, hitting Sycamore or Wilmot speedway, and usually manage to take in 1-2 ball games a year. While I love all that Chicago has to offer, in terms of diversity & culture, I only venture down to rub elbows with the masses as needed. I find that the burbs have almost as much to offer. I did have season tickets to the Marriott Theater, and would love to subscribe again, if I could find the right person to join me. Have a Koi pond in the back yard, sometimes a love/hate project, which is in it's 3rd revision, and am finally working on the landscaping, then done...I hope. Kicking back with a book & a cold beer on a summer day, with the sound of water in the back ground, doesn't get better. I love grilling or having bon fires in the backyard, and am still in awe at night, when I look up at the multitude of stars. I enjoy going for walks with the dog, especially the trails. Still enjoy apple picking in the fall and Ghost stories at Volo Bog. With all the bike paths, have entertained getting a bike. Would love to find someone to ride with.

Religion: A little tricky for some. While I don't wear my beliefs on my sleeve, my faith is important to me, and has helped me navigate through some tough times. Also, it has it's perks, like getting my 15 year old up for church, although maybe not as much as we should.

So, what am I fishing for? There's a question. The best parts of having a partner. The first person I can't wait to tell when something wonderful happens, and who patiently listens when I vent about a rotten day. She understands that she always deserves my best, and accepts my worst. She will truly understand the concept of trust, honesty, compassion and compromise. We both need to have a willingness to win some & lose some, it's what keeps a relationship strong. While we don't need to be joined at the hip, must want to share interests. Some of the best couples, do things as couples, it's the glue that holds them together and makes them stronger. I am definitely a touchy feely person, and still love holding hands. She will know that a relationship is work, but the rewards if done well are infinite. Still love cooking dinner together, it's a great time to reconnect. Well, you cook, I just get in the way, although I do boil a mean pot of water...:-) A friend told me recently that possibly I expect too much, and that passionate love is for a younger generation. While I understand what she meant, I disagree. I think you can still feel those butterflies and not settle for just comfortable. Holy Mackerel...enough.

Footnote: The person I am searching for will not live more than 30-40 minutes away. I know that limits my fishing holes, but I only need to catch one keeper. While long distance may work for some, I know what will work for me. Oh, one last thing, I noticed there seems to be some concern over people's pictures. For better or worse, my are current. :)
