About Me
Some of my photos are several yr. old. The one in the hat was shot June '08.
I love intelligent people and I am comfortable with those who are more intelligent than I. My music appreciation is rather limited; classical, classical and classical are my first 3 choices. :•) I also enjoy some blue grass and some country & western. I pay fairly close attention to current events and the political arena.
Lest the following paragraphs give the wrong impression, I love humor, but I don't like caustic humor, i.e. humor that is used as a weapon, or what a friend calls "Brick Wall" humor so common on TV.
I grew up in the cornfields of northern Indiana and have a deep apprecia- tion for my farm background. However, my politics and philosophy are much different from those of most farmers. I have a progressive out- look and a global view of life. I'm deeply concerned about the future of Planet Earth.
Photography, particularly nature photography is one of my passions, a life-long interest in wildlife biology, everything from ants to zebras. I kept bees for 50 years. Started studying birds in my mid teens. Have a life list of over 450 species. I've been active in conservation since my early 20's. Spent 20 years in the landscaping business and 17 years in environmental education.
My goal is a long-term relationship in which we are both comfortable in expressing our likes and dislikes and equally comfortable in expressing feelings. I'm not looking for a woman who meekly accepts my thinking and has none of her own. I'm searching for a woman who enjoys engaging in in-depth discussions of substantive subjects, but I'm not an intellectual snob. I am a lot younger than my years and have a lot of time to give in a close and loving relationship. If you are accustomed to a man who disrespects you and neglects you, I don't qualify. I need a relationship that is built on tenderness and respect.
If the above strikes a cord with you, I would love to hear from you.
First Date
A casual meeting for tea, lunch, dinner; to get acquainted. My first choice is your preference or preferences. Short of that; Discuss topics of interest and import. Visit a nature preserve or zoo or beach. Enjoy a sunset.
Paul Steffen has 2 roses that can be sent.
