Varies, depends on what you are into, I am the kind of person that doesn't like to make other people uncomfortable sooooo I would probably take someone to Santa Monica, because you get the comfort and calmness of the beach, and the fun of a amusement park but smaller and after the rides and the beach, play games at the arcade, go eat at a nice restaurant and end the night walking down the beach getting to know each other. Maybe some rock climbing.
