About Me
Looking for new friends and maybe, just maybe, that ‘special’ person. I would really love to share life’s joys and challenges with someone.
Physically, I’m quite average – height, build, looks etc. I consider myself to be in my “late youth” ;-) I'm a transwoman (TS). I try to present a smart and professional image at work, but tend to the extreme end of casual when at leisure!
I enjoy trips to the theatre and when at home I watch a little too much TV. I love a bit of Sci-Fi, so all things Star-Trek, Doctor Who, Buffy etc. keep me amused and out of mischief.
I’m not a couch-potato though! I do a fair bit of DIY around my house and visit the gym 2 or 3 time each week.
I’m not a big “foodie” – I eat to live, not the other way round. That said, a nice curry always goes down well (it’s one of the few things I enjoy cooking). My curries are usually served with either a “Cobra” beer or a nice Pinot Grigio.
Learning to play guitar is also taking-up some of my “spare” time. It’s not as easy as it looks, is it?!
If I'm listening to REAL musicians, then the likes of Swing Out Sister, Lisa Stansfield, Queen, Amy Winehouse and Chris Rea are usually on my playlist. If I'm in the mood, the Sensational Alex Harvey Band might get a dusting-off, too!
I’m of Yorkshire and Suffolk stock. My dad was born in Lowestoft. My mum is Sheffield through and through, and I like to think there’s some Scottish blood in the mix somewhere.
I worked in the entertainment business for quite some time – travelled the country with various bands/artistes – until my mid twenties when I decided I’d had enough of living out of suitcases and lumping equipment in and out of venues. I made a 'smart' move into the conference and exhibition business, and then spent a lot of time living out of suitcases and lumping equipment in and out of venues. D’Oh!
Leeds was my base for around fifteen years – and although I moved back to Sheffield around 14 years ago, somehow I still regard Leeds as my 'true home'.'
I currently work in "technical support".... That sounds incredibly boring, doesn’t it? Actually – it IS incredibly boring! Well, not all the time. Some of my job involves playing with theatrical lighting, sound systems, audio-visual equipment and other interesting toys. Those are the fun days! The rest involves holding the hands of people as they try to use their computers. Given a choice in the matter, I'd love to spend more of my working life being 'creative' in some way - back to Sound, Lighting and AV I suppose!
WHY AM I HERE? I’ve reached a reflective stage in my life. I’ve moved around quite a bit so never had a huge circle of friends. That said, the friends I do have are terrific, but being geographically distant means we don’t get together as much as we’d like. I haven't yet found my "someone special" - although it was close a couple of times - and I do think I have such a lot of love to give to the right person. The 'right person' would find me to be the most loyal companion ever. Are YOU special enough? :-)
FULL MARKS for reading this far! - So go-on, give us a click and say "Hi". It can't possibly hurt, can it?
First Date
Always willing to accommodate my date, but my preference would be for light food and drinks plus possibly bit of live entertainment. Perhaps a wine-bar on an "acoustic" night. Not too noisy though - it's good to talk :-) .. or maybe a stroll along a prom would be nice too - if only we were closer to the sea!
