I am re-writing my profile..

I was married for 13 years and was faithful for each and every day of that relationship. I am proud to say that!! Our, not my, relationship ended because we grew apart. I could go on and on about that, but we all have stories on our past relationships and if / when the time is right, the conversation will be had and answers will come out.

Because of the long relationship, I like many others out there are kind of lost in how to approach this new chapter. I have never really been all that good at meeting someone. My ex was introduced to me by my brother. I have been on this site for 6 months or so, and I have looked at some profiles that have caught my attention. I do actually read the profiles by the way. Because I am initially shy, and I am not overly outgoing, or sure what to say to break the ice, I generally don't write. I have tried on ocassion, and have failed, but I keep hoping that I might say something that will gain someone's attention and see where it leads. So, just because I checked your profile out and haven't written doesn't mean I am not interested. It simply means that I am gun shy.

I am looking for someone that first and foremost understands that I am a father of 3 girls first. I see them often, and I do what I can to ensure thier happiness first. I don't want to have your kids and my kids meet right away, and for that matter, I am not going to introduce them to you until I feel it's the right time. It's for thier protection. Secondly, I am looking for someone that doesn't want to just jump right into a relationship. I am not opposed to a long term relationship, I just want to take it slow. There is a lot to learn about each other before you can truly be in a lasting relationship. That's my opinion of course. And lastly, I am looking for someone that doesn't feel compelled to fill up every day on their calendar with 3 and 4 things to do each and every day. I have no problem getting out and doing things, but there are days that I would much rather sit at home and relax. If I am in a relationship, I want to spend time with that person in a more relaxed environment at times. Going out is great, but how much talking or getting to know each other can you do at a movie, club, or party?

I did not mention anything about age, or height, or things of that nature. There obviously has to be an attraction though.

Going to the movies, smoking on the bbq grill, spending time with family and friends, bowling, darts, pool, and when the weather permits outdoors activities.
