Thus falls the shadow on "POF Pond", from the profile that each one of us pens and submits....to the reality of actually meeting. The POF pond draws many people, for many different reasons, some for a life long partner, some for dating and friendship and there are those who fall into melancholy discontent. Perhaps they are bored with their job, their dog, fingernail polish or the ring tone on their phone, so they sign up for a round on POF. Regardless of the reason for being here I beleive this is the spot where we define who we are and what we are looking for.

It is in this area, "our profile" that each one of us is supposed to sell ourselves, thru words and pictures. It's a place were the quest and illusion are supposed to meet. A young Andre Agassi, back in the 80's in the Cannon commerical
stated, "Image is everything." But like the older Agassi, most of us really don't believe it. We understand the differance between the quest and illusion.

So some where between the Quest and the illusion you will find "2FST4U09" I am easy going, in very good shape,runner and triathlete. Well read, Stienbeck to Emmerson, but nowdays mostly Track&Field news and Corvette Fever. Well travled, South Beach to Coos Bay. Hiked the Grand Canyon, hugged a redwood, and just back
from Jackson Hole and the Snake River, running and cycling. Ran Boston and a thousand races between here and there over the years. I beleive in God, Mother Goose, Big Bird, Peter Pan and everything in between.

I know for myself and many of you, the dating scene in the pond of POF is
a relationship that dances between everyone's head and heart. Some time the anticipation of meeting someone new brings a sweetness of anticipation and other times it leaves us in dark dread. I must admit there have been times when the Quest and Illusion had denied a brokered climate of glasnost and joined forces to confuse me.

But do not let the big pond of POF stop you from sending me a simple HI. With
me there is nothing fancy, go to school, pay my bills, cut the lawn, feed my cat
and do laundry. I am not the same person at 54 that I was at 34 or 44. I have few more wrinkles, less hair and it's payback time for all those years of running 100 mile weeks. Things that intoxicated me years ago, almost seem silly nowdays. And sadly, some people that I loved have passed away. I find I enjoy simpler things, mellowed out some, and in many respects enjoy life more.

So,think you would like to hang with me sometime, write and say hi. We will
take a walk, (not because I can't still run) but because something has rolled
over in me, and a slow romantic walk with a lady just seems more enchanting nowdays..hr
