About Me
I am a normal man looking for something similar in a woman. I enjoy the outdoors, I enjoy fine dining in great restaurants, but I also enjoy sitting in front of a fire either reading books with someone I care about or watching a movie together in that same setting.
I have two children living in my home with me, and four children in total - the oldest two are now adults, one in college and the other off living in the real world pursuing her career after recently graduating from CU.
I am now divorced after a year of separation and, quite honestly, have not dated for decades so this is all quite new to me - but something I am certainly looking forward to doing with the right person.
I never have been the type of person who can spread feelings with more than one woman at a time and, as such, I look forward to meeting a woman with whom I can share a long-term, if not lifetime, relationship with.
Last point, a Bichon resides in this house but would not dream of showing a picture of that pseudo-dog. It is an animal with no natural instincts whatsoever. The dog and I simply co-exist in the same space as this is my daughter's dog. I am currently in the process of upgrading to a real dog though Lucy (as in "you have a lot of 'splaining to do') will still remain in the home after an actual man-dog is acquired. I have sole custody of the pseudo-dog, but I most certainly didn't ask for it! I am here simply to ensure the survival of the animal as it would not last 5 minutes in the outside world (it has already fallen victim to a coyote attack - don't even ask how much that one cost me).
Separate addition... I got the real dog several months ago - "Jake." He is a Labradoodle (still kind of a foo-foo breed) with much more emphasis on the lab side. Very mellow (like his new owner), and already very bonded to my youngest daughter. The Bichon, by the way, hates him... which does not suprise me and is quite entertaining to observe.
First Date
An honest person who is ready to explore a relationship that highlights friendship, companionship (really, same thing), honesty and commitment. A good sense of humor is a big plus - and I bring that to the table as well. I guess the question here, however, is what I would do on a first date. Often, a brief meeting for a glass of wine works best though dinner may be appropriate - depending on how much contact I have had with a new person via phone and email prior to that first meeting. Still figuring out just what is best...
