I am an athletic, physically fit and well educated guy. I have a great many of the kinds of personality characteristics that one might seek. I am sensitive, humorous, somewhat irreverent, discriminating, socially and health conscious, and affectionate. I attempt to be communicative. It is an ongoing task to improve my ability to communicate with those for whom I care. I can be a very cheerful person who highly values humor. I am a very pragmatic person with a strong sense of idealism. I do happen to have some strong "jock" tendencies. I have always been transfixed by the flight or bounce of a ball. I enjoy racquet sports, I ski, I run and I play golf. I really enjoy doing most any physical activity. I would gladly hike mountain paths or city streets. I am not without an intellectual side, am reasonably well read and knowledgable about a myriad of subjects. I love to eat nice meals in good restaurants with fine red wine and a caring friend. I do have one child who is now in graduate school and with whom I am quite close. He had been out of town for much of the past four acedemic year but now he is in school in this area and his presence and our shared activities are really important to me. I would like to meet a woman who is also health conscious, fairly vigorous, and very caring. I am strongly attracted to an inquisative mind and an empathetic soul. Being expressive affectionately is an added plus. Physically I tend to be attracted to women who are no larger than medium build but that spark can be as unpredicable as it can be illusive. Of course, the other side of this issue is that the spark, that serendipitous spark, needs to be mutual. It is important for me to connect with a woman who leans to the left politically and socially. Though I strongly value tolerance I find myself a bit intolerant of those who are intolerant.

A coffee or glass of wine followed by a walk all facilitating an easy informal conversational atmosphere.
