I have very diverse tastes in what I like, and I hate to be categorized because there is always extra baggage attached to any category. The same words mean different things to different people, and some things can't be properly explained in print.
I know what I like, even though I may not know exactly why. I am honest, easy going, and generally on an even keel. I have high standards for myself, and a good idea to me, is a good idea, no matter where it came from.
I tend to be rather subtle and low key in general,(which has come in handy many times.) If someone doesn't pick up on that, then they're probably too egocentric. But if I warm up to you and feel comfortable, more of the real me will appear. I tend to know if I like someone pretty quickly, though.
I am an independent thinker, and I'm not worried about being politically correct, although I am always respectful. I'm a very good listener, have a good sense of humor, (even if it is a little sarcastic at times), I'm always open to hearing differing points of view, and I often play my cards close to the chest when I realize that others can't handle opposing views well. Even if I stongly dissagee, I can usually understand the opposing viewpoint. banana:
I'm just looking for that one special woman to share my life with. A true best friend, in every sense of the word. Someone that makes my heart smile. I like almost every type of music, and I'm open to the right person showing me new things, and new experiences. I'd prefer someone in Westchester rather than the city, but I'm willing to travel for the right person. I'm not looking for power or wealth, although I do alright for myself. I just don't value many of the things that the average person might.
To quote a friend,I'm " kind and affectionate. He is attentive to the needs of others and creatively helpful. He is always willing to pitch in and help. He is pragmatic and sensible, giving sound advice when it is requested. He does not force his opinions on others, but speaks eloquently on a variety of subjects." Plus, she says I'm "smart, funny, kind, creative, considerate, imaginative, attentive, caring, meticulous, and laid back." If you don't agree, don't blame me. I'm just quoting her.
Most importantly, I need someone that I can carry on a conversation with about almost anything. Communication, and honesty are very important, even when the message isn’t a pleasant one.

It all depends on the person, the time of year, and other variables. With the right person, it really won't matter much. Anything that we can both agree on.
