I have recently moved to Vancouver after working in Portland for over seven years and commuting from Salem. My company is involved in international trading, so I do a fair amount of traveling overseas. I have been in this area of business for over 20 years and I have been to about 30 countries. Some countries I have only been to a few times, and other countries I have been to many times. It has been a great benefit to be able to work with people from other countries and other cultures, and has opened my eyes and mind to many new things. I also enjoy personal travel, mostly to sunny locations when I can. I have also come to appreciate how great it can be to come home to your own cozy home after you have been away.

I like to go for walks anywhere around the city or even go for a hike out in the hills. Going to the coast almost any time is fun, but I especially like to be there during a nice storm when you can watch everything from the comfort of your house or hotel room, cuddling in front of a fire, having some wine with that special woman in your life. I grew up in Central Oregon, and have always enjoyed spending time in Sunriver. I am comfortable in almost any setting, can dress up or dress down. Love the theater or the pub. I have no problem going out shopping, but also really enjoy just spending some quality time visiting. The one constant I have with all of this is I prefer to have a special woman in my life to share these things with. I am not looking to jump in to anything serious right away, but my ultimate goal would be to find the woman that will be my best friend, lover, companion and confidant. Someone that I will want to put her wants and needs ahead of my own, knowing that she will want to do the same for me.

My daughter is 22 and my son is 19. Both are in college and pretty self-sufficient at this point. My extended family is also important to me, and we like to get together as often as possible, during the holidays, celebrating birthdays, any chance we can. My family is very open and loving, and very welcoming to anyone that joins us. We usually end up telling a lot of stories when we get together, and there is a lot of laughter.

I have a fairly wide range in musical taste. The only thing I really don’t like is rap. Currently I listen to mostly classic Rock and Pop, current Country and some newer Rock, Pop and Alternative. I don’t really care what the genre is, I will listen to it if I like it. I used to play the guitar, and now that I have more time I will try to pick that up again. My favorite song to play was probably Dust in the Wind by Kansas.

Even though I have worked in Portland for several years, I still don’t know that much about it or the metro area. I would really enjoy having someone show me some of their favorite spots, or if you are new to the area as well, we can explore together!
