About Me
I am an elementary school teacher. I love my job and plan on doing it for a long time to come. I live and work in the Northern burbs of Chicago. I am currently teaching summer school and am enjoying some deserved R&R.
I play volleyball in the city on Oak Street beach on Thursday night. The team consists of a lot of old friends, and some new ones too, so I always enjoy that. I usually get together with friends on the weekends and sometimes during the week, depending.
I enjoy reading a variety of books. Being a 3rd grade teacher I always read more than my fair share of younger aged books. There are actually some pretty good picture books out there! Pleasure reading is something I would like to do more of.
I work out a 4-5 days a week. I try to stay active year round, either playing sports, going for walks or working out.
Also, I enjoy tv (comedy central, E!, mtv/vh1, Discovery/history channel, reality tv) and of course movies. My new favorite show is Glee. Recently I have been watching more and more stuff online. Although I enjoy unwinding with something relaxing, I also enjoy going out and spending time with friends.
Since I grew up in the Chicago area, my family lives close to me. I see my parents and sister often. They are a large part of my life. I enjoy taking care of myself and those around me.
I have other interests...music/movies/food/travel, etc. that I would love to tell you more about. Interested? I would love to hear from you.
First Date
The most important thing to me on a first date is that I get to know the person I'm talking with. Unfortunately, that doesn't happen to well at a concert, club, or a movie.
On a first date, I like to have a relaxed conversation. This could be over food or out walking through a park or on the beach. Talking while enjoying a beer on a beautiful summer day, sounds like an enjoyable day to me.
I enjoy doing active things like bike-riding, rock climbing, hiking, canoeing, etc. but those aren't usually the best options for a first date.
