My closest friends describe me as as quiet, intelligent, dependable. I'm a very loyal friend and will help someone in anyway that I can. Even though I'm quiet and somewhat introverted, I enjoy being with people in small groups and have a good sense of humor.

Something I haven't done yet that I would like to do is to travel to other countries. I'd like to spend time in Greece or Italy (or both). My idea of perfection, as far as travel goes, is to spend time in an area enjoying the countryside and learning about the culture of the area.

I'm interested in exploring new activities that either I haven't done in a long time or perhaps have never had the time to do. For example, this summer I'm trying bicycling again and am taking golf lessons. I don't know if I'll truly like (or be good at) either one, but I want to develop some new ways to be active. I like to learn and experience new things.

I would best describe my lifestyle as moderately busy. I teach and during the school year, I'm usually pretty busy--papers to grade and exams to write--that sort of thing. I don't teach in the summer, but I stay busy doing yard work,taking care of maintenance and repair on my house, and babysitting my grandchildren occasionally. I enjoy simple things, such as spending time with my children and grandchildren. I go to the theater and concerts several times a year. I walk my dogs nearly every day. I love to read--mostly murder mysteries and espionage type books. David Baldalcci, Dan Brown, Sue Graffton, and James Patterson are among the authors I read on a regular basis.

The thing that I appreciate most in a partner is that he is thoughtful, kind, and loving. I'm looking for someone to share my life with who enjoys many of the same things that I do and who will want to share his interests with me.

My ideal relationship is one where there is mutual caring and love. One in which my partner and I are best friends as well as lovers.

On a first date, I would want to meet for lunch or coffee so that we could talk and get to know one another. Other things that I would like to do very soon into dating is to do somethings together such as take a walk in a park or perhaps the Botanic Gardens, visit the Museum of Nature and Science. I think doing things together that allow a couple to talk and share their thoughts and ideas is a great way to get to know one another.
