I am a passionate, intelligent, creative, witty, warm and caring woman who loves to spend hours talking and getting to know someone better.
I love...
Music (most types of music have at least some songs I like and I will listen to a variety of things but jazz is my favorite).
Movies (comedies and romantic comedies like When Harry Met Sally or Three Men and a Baby are usually my favorite but I also enjoy dramas like A Beautiful Mind or Shawshank Redemption and action adventure movies like Die Hard or Indiana Jones Movies...I even like some musicals like Mamma Mia and My Fair Lady ...I also love classic movies like Rear Window, It Happened One Night, Breakfast at Tiffanys and To Kill a Mockingbird [which happens to be my Favorite Movie and Book]).
Theatre (we can discuss this if you enjoy theatre too).
Art (again, we can discuss this if you enjoy art also...but I'd hate to bore you with a bunch of "art talk" if you have absolutely no interest in it whatsoever).
Literature (To Kill a Mockingbird is my fave book, as I previously menitoned, but I also like reading other fiction and non-fiction books, self help books and other types of books and magazines...from classic authors and books to just-for-fun reading).
Baseball (I will sometimes watch it on TV (my team or the College World Series or Play offs) but my favorite is going to games in person.).
Pool/Billiards (just great fun and something I can enjoy now that the bars are non-smoking which is a good thing in my book).
Scrabble (I like other board and card games too....I know, I know, not the most grown up thing...but it feeds the kid in me and is just a great way to have a little fun and relaxation).
Ice cream (mmmmm, just a good treat not only in the summer but all year long..soft serve or hard pack, it all has its place).
Some athletic activities (hiking, volleyball, going to the gym...just started that again recently...but I do get addicted to it sometimes and become a "gym rat", roller skating, ice skating, swimming, bowling, mini golf and some other things too).
And finally....hmmmmm, just about anything really (I will try MOST things at least once, although there are some things on the definite I Will NOT Try That List...I challenge you to find something that I wouldn't consider...well, that doesn't involve risking my life or bugs, spiders or snakes....or eating anything too outrageous...and I don't consider Sushi or escargot outrageous...but I do consider anything made from organs, or any insects or reptiles a little on the "not so much my thing" side...although I have had alligator before, it was just rubbery and kind of blah).
What am I looking for....a LOT really...but in a nutshell (hmmm, rephrase that...NOT a NUTCASE...been there, done that!)....lets just say...a brief outline...
I am looking to meet someone with integrity who believes that the best relationships start out as great friendships and grow from there. Other essential qualities I look for in a person are honesty, kindness, thoughtfulness, respect, intelligence, a love of learning, a great sense of humor, an optimistic outlook on life and good manners (If you don't know how to close your mouth when you chew, or eat in a way that doesn't alert the whole room to the fact that you are eating soup...hmmmm, please know that good table manners are essential...business dinners and the like require it, unfortunately table manners are too underrated these days.......as are things like opening a door for a woman, helping her on with her coat, opening a car door, walking on the street-side...other gentlemanly things that may seem old-fashioned to some...but are still appreciated by others....like me!)
A BIGGIE is someone who loves to travel and explore new places and things, that is essential...a desire to know and experience more that just what is in your own backyard....we are not living in Kansas anymore...and OZ is a beautiful place that begs to be seen!
Why the travel thing...because I LOVE to travel and don't do it nearly enough. I mean everything from little day trips to a town I've never been to just to check it out or eat at a small town cafe that I heard was good...all the way to long road trips, off the beaten path...meandering and seeing the beautiful country that we are so fortunate to live in...and Oh there is so much more...if you love to travel then we have to talk about it...planes, trains and automobiles...I'm game! (Boats too.)

A lot depends on the person I am going out with and what our mutual interests are. I think a movie is a BAD thing for a first date because you are not supposed to talk during a movie and I think a first date should really be about talking and getting to know someone better. A casual dinner or even lunch...a glass of wine, drinks or a cup of coffee... mini-golf, pool, bowling or a baseball game...something fun where you can have some laughs and enjoy getting to know each other. |
