I grew up in very small towns, but ventured out in the world and ended up (in college and shortly thereafter) living in some very big towns, so I actually have a varied perspective on life and people. I like to think of myself as a fairly simple man, but am far from simple minded. Friends and family are probably the most important things in life, I would dare to say. I have a good job and have been working at the same place for 14 years, so stability is very important to me.

I am fairly funny (so I'm told), love to tell stories, and hope to write some sort of book someday (people say I should). I am very perceptive, and have an excellent memory, which can be a good thing or a bad thing I suppose. But in the end, I like to think that it makes me a sensitive person, in tune to other people and my surroundings.

My taste in music is legendary (to those that know me), everything from hardcore country to punk/metal, and a few things in between. I enjoy going to concerts when I can, the whole people experience is what makes it special, not just the music.
Hopefully this all doesn't sound too self centered and egotistical...but this WAS mandatory.

I really don't have a ton of hobbies, but I like to travel, even if it's just a weekend getaway. I also like to fish when I can, mainly with my 7 year old son, who I usually see at least two days a week. I occasionally golf (not well) and still will live out the glory days by playing a game of basketball now and then (ok...they weren't so glorious, but nobody knows that now). I also enjoy watching football, both college (Go Beavs!) and professional.

As for what I am looking for as a partner, I am really not that picky. But I feel that chemistry (positive or negative) usually shows up fairly early in a relationship. Accordingly, I tend to size things up before I let myself go emotionally, but when I do I am very passionate and dedicated, and that is what I am hoping for in return.
