About Me
It used to be in these ads I'd try to keep from scaring people off. Leave out politics, religion, etc. . . I've since decided I'd rather save the time and scare off the people who are not going to accept me for who I am than try to convince someone to accept my beliefs.
I have a strong sense of personal responsibility and I value freedom and privacy. It's something I feel we're losing as time goes on. People are so afraid of admitting the problems in their life are their own doing and dealing with them that they're willing to give up all their power just so they don't have acknowledge that they have to take care of themselves and the ones they love.
Most people like music, so I'll try to be more specific. I prefer music with rhythm and power. Chevelle is currently one of my favorites although lately I've been listing to a lot of Smashing Pumpkins and discovered that Powerman 5000 has a lot more albums that I initially thought. I've also been caught listening to Rob Zombie, Johnathan Coulton, Nine Inch Nails, The Breeders, Gorillaz, Freeze Pop, Lords of Acid, Eminem, Ben Folds, Muse, Silversun Pickups, the occasional Mozart, . . . Ya, lots of stuff. I play bass guitar, I took a long hiatus but I'm getting back into it again. In fact I've just bought 2 new basses. That's going to screw with my budget, but I really liked them and both models have been discontinued so this was my last chance and the price was right. So, next I'm going to get some lessons, or at least some home study materials. I really want to work on my music theory. I feel I have some technique and groove, but I need to work on the composition and get a better sense of time.
OK, hobby two. Motorcycles. I love me some motorcycles. I have a Buell 1125R that I commute to work on and ride on the street for fun and an old Suzuki SV650S that I use for riding out at Heartland Park Topeka so I can learn my lessons on something cheaper to repair. If you have you're own bike, want to ride a motorcycle some day, or at least wouldn't mind riding on the back of the Buell you'll score big bonus points. If you think you're going to get me to stop riding, or stop wearing my safety gear, then we can still get along fine as long as you realize neither will ever happen.
Hobby three, even 'scarier' than motorcycles, guns. You don't have to like them, you just can't expect me to let them go. I do some casual shooting sports and I'm a member of local club.
So, my political leanings are libertarian, if you haven't guessed it already.
I'm not a big fan of organized religion but I'm open minded enough to accept someone who has a faith.
OK, don't let all this serious stuff scare you too much. I've got a sense of humor to. I'm know to make people laugh now and again. I'm a fan of Invader Zim, Monty Python, Foamy the squirrel, icanhascheezburger, etc. . .
If you're still reading, I'm looking for a partner. My current goals and aspirations, as the suggestion says, are to fall in love with someone I'm compatible with. Right now, I think that's pretty much my primary focus. I've got a good job, a house that needs some TLC, a decent truck to drive, and a roommate that's allergic to cats so my day to day needs are good. But I want something more. I've never found anyone I've formed a solid lasting partnership with. I've been infatuated with people, and I've had a couple people who were into me, but I just haven't gotten anything to click long-term.
Once I've got the partner thing down, that will have a major influence on future goals, and I really hate doing things alone. Which means right now I'm really not getting as much done as I think I could.
