I'm really passionate about music. I love to discover unknown bands and artists, go to live gigs and listen to new-music podcasts to help keep me up to speed. I listen to a wide variety of music including indie rock, underground hip hop, and folk. I also love to relax by listening to Sunday morning jazz. I used to do campus radio. Now I mostly listen to the CBC.

I'm a fairly politically conscious person. I'm sensitive to marginalized groups and do what I can to show people the "errors of their ways" without direct confrontations...I find that people stop listening if you can't find common ground with them. In my day job I do behavior modification regarding nutrition and activity with a large group of people. Changing people's minds is like turning a boat, not a bike. It takes time.

I love to be active and I'm willing to do almost anything (that doesn't involve collisions). I work out at the gym, want to hike more mountains during the summer, snowboard during the winter and socialize on the weekend. I also love to run with my dog. Cycling is something that I like, but I don't do enough of it...maybe because of the snow for 8 months of the year?

One of my goals for the next 10 years of my life is to visit every continent at least once. This summer I traveled to Central America, and I'm going to Europe next year. Asia's next, and then who knows! It's a pretty exciting prospect to see so many different cultures, and meet different people.

I'm thinking a pub with good music and a comfortable atmosphere, and some great conversation. If things flow, and it seems like we've got plenty to talk about, then hopefully we can do something more active on our second date like climbing, jogging or maybe fencing (swords, not barbed wire).
