An unexamined life is called a dream, perhaps a delusion. I'm passionate about creating stories and fantasy, touching others, holding up the mirror and perhaps, inspiring them to think, or re-think. Drama belongs on the screen or the page or stage, not in life. I'm grounded in the real, here and now. My career is in the arts, my passion too, as a working professional, an accomplished writer, producer and director.

My world is about the journey, not the destination. I'm searching for someone who values both. That is the quest I refer to, and by truest nature I am both a leader, and a collaborator, a partner. I am open hearted, passionate, imaginative and fully committed to savoring each and every moment I have a pulse. Perhaps a few moments afterwards too. An authentic romantic, without a shred of naive about me. A gentleman, a courtier in the classical sense, who knows how to treat a lady. When inspired to such emotion, I love well, deeply and fully, and seek someone who is skilled in both the giving and receiving. Loyalty, integrity, not labels but a way to be always.

I'm looking for a peer, a partner in adventure, a true mate, someone whose "well of soul" is deep enough that when I look into her eyes I can't see the coins shimmering on the bottom. Someone who knows how to play. A hearty laugh is a definate. Courage, compassion, competence, are fundimental. A creative mind, and a curious spirit, likewise essential. Someone who knows how to give and recieve in equal measure, for any intimate relationship is a collaborative art at heart. I believe intimate partners should feed one another professionally, personally, erotically. They should also love curling up by the fire and reading together, watching a good movie, or just watching the rain make patterns on the glass.

First meetings are just that, and there's never another. So someplace where we can actually "be" and share is important to me. Of course, these days, somewhere you feel safe and comfortable is essential. Social grace is not a luxury, so getting comfortable, with no "show" is a good thing. Once it's not 100 degrees, hot cocoa, with or without a splash of something yummy (Frangelico anyone?) at "Shutters" on the beach sounds perfect.

Conversation is key, connection if it's to be shared, so I'm a big fan of the beach, the mountains, a quiet, delicious unassuming meal with waves somewhere crashing nearby. Save the dinners by the swan filled lake for later... if we feel inspired. Unless you're allergic to swans, which... would be a first. Later, concerts, the Hollywood Bowl with box seats and a picnic, a day trip to Santa Barbera, (horses or not) shopping on State Street, Sycamore Hot Springs, a remarkable spa in San Louis Obispo, lake kyaking, Catalina for the day, or longer if the muse inspires us, capturing sunsets every chance we get.

Meanwhile, this... passions: animals of every kind, stunts, horse work, science fiction of the higher sort, period films, storytelling in all its incarnations, music, classical and contemporary, theatre, time-travel, doing the impossible, collaboration in the here and now, rain, please sometime soon, cooking and making an exotic mess beside someone gifted with kitchen sorcery, stamping our own passports... embracing impermanence, reading by the fireplace with beautiful, intelligent company, (to each other too) crafting and reading poetry, Tibetan Shambhala meditation, adventure in all its forms, camping somewhere you never want to leave, leaving this world just a bit better than I found it, one way or another, allowing for genuine intimacy, yup, the scary, toe-tingly, heatbeating fast, grinning from ear to ear authentic kind... "Whatever you can do, or dream you can, begin it now. Boldness has magic in it. Be brave, and mighty forces will come to your aid."
