I’ve come to the realization that deep down in my heart, at my very essence, I’m a geek. I’m the kind of guy who will get up early on his day off to watch a space craft crash into the moon. I’m the kind of guy who will build an electronic device to water the container garden instead of just periodically watering it. So science and technology is my passion which means I have some ultra geeky pursuits. I won’t bore you with the names here but as a consequence I’m constantly on the lookout for some obscure text on an esoteric technical subject. Yes, I’m the nerd who wants to know how things work and it bothers me when I don’t. I even want to know why it is I want to know, which is probably what brought me to the understanding that my abnormal interests are mostly due to my equally atypical INTJ personality type. As an expert on the subject David Keirsey believes INTJs make up less than one percent of the population which probably explains why I’m so weird. Keirsey calls the INTJ personality type the mastermind and others call it the crackpot. Both labels seem to fit me since I’m always coming up with a new idea, plan, or scheme that I relish, that is until I discover the flaws or I actualize it then I’m over it and onto the next bizarre idea.

Somehow I have managed to recognize my strange characteristics and have worked hard to balance them with more pedestrian pursuits like making people laugh and whipping up a mean batch of chili. This is probably a defense mechanism to protect me from becoming a social outcast which would be horrible because then no one would listen to my crazy ideas. You see by disarming them with humor and bribing them with food they are willing to sit and listen no matter how insane the thoughts are. Consequently I have become a pretty darn good cook with my best dishes being chicken parmesan, chicken Marsala, and chili. I have also learned that leaving a mess in the kitchen annihilates all the ingratiation purchased with the food and that with most people I cannot cook or cajole enough to buy the amount of ingratiation I require. This thought is probably the genesis for the text you are currently reading. So I have determined a different tack is required and now I am hoping I can find someone who shares my obsession for ideas so I won’t have to spend so much time in the kitchen.

I would prefer to meet in a public place for coffee or drinks and go from there.
